They gave my son peanuts in his smores, not bothering to ask if he was allergic. 2 epipens and a trip to the ER later, my son is alive but very shaken and traumatized by the experience. There was one point where he threw up and his airways were closing, but the EpiPen worked in time for us to get him to the hospital. After my son stabilized, around 10pm I called the camp to find out what had happened. When I talked to Craig, the owner, his attitude was horrendous. He basically said it was not their fault they didnt know my son had an allergy. He said that the staff asked the kids nuts or no nuts, but after checking with my son and 2 other parents, they said they were not asked. In the end, he was uninterested in dealing with me and tried to hang up and told me to call him in the morning (he didnt want to inconvenience his staff at 10pm night but meanwhile my son is still in the hospital, and none of us are asleep) so I told him that I'd be contacting my lawyer.

We brought our Girl Scout troop here in May of 2017 and had a fantastic time. It was a huge plus for us tired leaders as all the activities and meals were lead by the staff. We got to participate and enjoy all the programs with our scouts. All of the staff were so nice and it felt like we were part of a big family. The lodgings were comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. Our girls loved the archery, ropes course, craft time, fishing, fencing, hiking and more. I highly recommend this for troops wanting a weekend camping experience with all the tradition but none of the hassle. A great price for all that is included.

My children have attended summer camp here for many, many years and the staff is always attentive, helpful, polite, and great with the kids. The owner, "Crazzy" Craig, is like a father figure to many and he really does everything so the children will have a great experience. Thanks so much for taking great care of my children and for teaching them so many things about being outdoors and about life.

My daughter just got home from Camp Wasewagan a few days ago. She LOVED it! This was her first year there, and she thought the counselors, activities, and food were all terrific! Highly rated! She wants to go back next year, and we will be happy to send her.

I have 3 sons and all have gone to Wasawagan. My eldest was bummed the year he aged out and my twins, one of which is special needs, give it rave reveiws everytime they go. I encourage all the extra curricular activities (ie horse back riding, rafting, surfing). My kids made friendships to last a lifetime and have memories to spare. Waswagan is the camp I wish I could have gone to. The staff is kind and involved and Crazy Craig is all his name implies. He is loved by his campers. The kids get awards and dance parties. It just can't be beat. The convinient shuttle is also a HUGE plus. I could not give a higher recomendation!

In fact I loved it so much I went twice! I went for sessions 2 and 4 .so if your looking for a great summer camp, Camp Wasawagan is the camp for you!

Our Girl Scout troop came up for the weekend retreat and had a blast! The girls got to try fencing, ropes, fishing, swimming, mountain biking and more! We even got snow! The cabins are comfortable, with standard bunkbeds, and a space heater. Bathrooms are somewhat distant during the night, but a port a potty was located nearby for middle of the night emergencies. The staff was excellent! Kevin in particular helped our group when we arrived to our scheduled activity a little late, only to find ourselves without a "guide" due to a scheduling mix-up. Kevin came to the rescue twice! Overall, the girls (and adult chaperones/leaders) had a great time and are already asking about going again next year!

I've gone to this camp for a few years and I love it. The staff is amazing and so are the campers, that might be the reason why I go there.

I've been going for 7 years now (since it opened) and I'm always to ready to go back. The staff are like my parents, the campers are like my siblings, and the camp is like my home. I recommened it to anyone. I love everything about this camp, and I can't wait to be a staff member.

From my personal experience, the staff at Wasewagan have always been committed to providing the best they can in regards to care, entertainment, and one on one attention. I always have recommended Wase to my friends with children and will continue to do so.

My son attended Wasewagen for the first time this year. He went kicking and screaming, because he did not want to go to camp at all. When we picked him up, the first words out of his mouth were that he wanted to return next year. He had a wonderful time. He connected with staff and other campers and enjoyed the activities. Even the food was good, he reported.

My daughter first attended Lazy J Ranch Camp, Wasewagan's other camp. After a bad experience there we decided to try Wasewagan. My daughter is a high functioning special needs child. These camps are supposedly inclusion camps. Again, I told them she gets teased and to please watch her. Not only did she get teased but she was told to clean the cabin while everyone went out and did activities. At night, I won't go into what was seen and done. We won't be back to say the least.
