I was a camper at TL for 4 years and a counselor for 2. I loved camp as camper. My counselors were enthusiastic and supportive. The out of camp trips were amazing and the evening activities were fun and creative. However, once I became a counselor, I was disappointed to find out that the upper management/owners are not nice people. They are very judgmental and at times outright mean to staff members. They claim christian values, but espouse few of them. I have heard them call a counselor (who was a camper there for several years) a bad christian. Staff members that are either struggling with their faith or with the emotional challenge of mentoring kids are not treated with respect. Overall, I was in love with this place until I was no longer a paying customer and found out what hypocritical people run the camp.

My son was a camper for 3 years and went on to be on staff for another 4 years. Camp Timberlake was a place he could shine and discover his gifts. Camp Timberlake gave him the opportunity to mature and grow confident in his abilities and faith. I don't think there are many places left in our society where young men can discover their talents in an environment at once challenging and deeply caring. Had I known how positive the camp environment would be for my son I would have sent him at a much younger age! I highly recommend Camp Timberlake!

Camp Timberlake is a second home for me. I've worked here for the past 3 summers, soon to be 4. It is a blessing to see the growth that happens in these boys' lives while they're at camp and is the reason why I keep coming back. These boys experience the Gospel through the relationships they build with their counselors and are given an excellent example of what it looks like to walk with Christ on a daily basis. On top of that they receive professional instruction in a wide range of camp activities and outdoor sports. I don't know of another place in the world that gives boys the chance to experience this kind of growth and adventure. My only regret is that I didn't come here as a camper.

It’s awesome to know that leaving my son in a camp like this for two weeks,or a month, or honestly all summer long even, that the type of men that he will have to look up to and the atmosphere he will be in is something irreplaceable and so impressionable, that the values and lessons instilled will help mold him into the World Changer we believe he is becoming. Thank you camp Timberlake!!!

The difference between a good summer camp and a GREAT summer camp is the camp staff. Every summer, Camp Timberlake recruits men whose earnest desire is to love and serve boys as they grow into adulthood. And it shows in the product they deliver. Camp Timberlake will be a place where your child grows tremendously because that is the staff's priority as they encourage him to boldly attempt new activities and experiences. Your boy can develop a healthy sense of adventure as he grows spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically in the most beautiful place on earth-- the mountains of Western North Carolina. His failures become learning opportunities and his successes are celebrated as his gifts are affirmed. I can think of no higher recommendation than the one I offer for Camp Timberlake. P.S. The Evening Activities, a highlight of the scheduled camp day, are the best in the country, especially sock war.

Overall, Camp Timberlake is a phenomenal place to send your sons for a summer. The staff is an incredible mixture of college students, the activities are well planned and taught by experts, and the meals are good and hearty. The trips taken out of camp are plentiful and second to none, and everyone at camp truly cares about your son's well being. Overall, Timberlake is the most incredible camp and has been a blessing in my life. I hold Timberlake in the highest possible regard and would recommend it to anyone without thinking twice about it.

There are no words to describe the staff at this camp. They made my four years as a camper the best days of my life. There are trips every week that take kids on adventures they never forget: climbing, rafting, kayaking, backpacking, etc. I'm not a Christian but the laidback and accepting christian environment created a brotherhood and a sense of belonging I'll never forget. I did not feel uncomfortable at all in the Christian setting. My only complaint is that I could only experience this place for two weeks each year instead of my entire summer.

Having experienced this camp in many capacities since the late 90's, I can confidently say Camp Timberlake offers excellence in activity instruction, leadership, and camper development. Boys will have fun and grow as they try new and adventurous activities. The staff is full of professional, high-energy, and fun role models for boys ages 7-16. If you are looking for a safe and fun summer camp for your son, take a good look at Camp Timberlake.

As a former camper for 4 years and having been on staff, Timberlake is a truly amazing place for boys to become men. The spirit of brotherhood is overwhelming and the staff has a genuine devotion towards helping the campers grow and have a blast! I've made amazing friendships that last from summer to summer and beyond. All my past counselors have proven to be fantastic role models and changed my life both as a camper and while working alongside them on staff. On top of all that, Timberlake offers a diverse range of activities to participate in and experiences that are truly unique. Neither you nor your son will be disappointed in Camp Timberlake, and he will likely be begging to come back for the next summer every year, I know I was!
