Click to report rating    3/28/17   5     5     5     5     5   My daughter has tried several camps, last year was her first year at Aldersgate and it was by far the best yet. She did three weeks of overnight camp and 6 weeks of day camp, which included Horse Camp, Campers Choice, and Living Arts. Aldersgate took all the kids from Living Arts to go see Malala speak in Providence as part of the program for the week. The rest of the summer was spent in the day camp program where she spent her days boating, swimming, learning archery and making crafts. This is by far one of the best camps and as a parent I highly recommend it!! RID: 50568
Click to report rating    7/8/15   5     5     5     5     5   Everyone says Aldersgate is about "community" and they "feel like themselves" there - which was totally my experience when I was a camper. Staff is professional and well-trained to deal with kids and in safety procedures. The camp is owned by the United Methodist church but they welcome people from all faiths - they are very progressive and focused on social justice (finding inequalities in the world and figuring out how kids can make real change). Super affordable and BEAUTIFUL campground! Couldn't say enough great things about Aldersgate!!! RID: 48834

Click to report rating    5/5/11   5     5     5     5     5   This camp was great! The staff was very friendly & helpful when we came to check into our cabin for family camp (I've know a few previous summer camps that just read your name of a list & give you your cabin #). The campership fund is a great idea for families that have trouble paying for camp space because of the recession & it's also great because it helps make sure that the valuable activities (i.e. horse riding, living arts, & leadership camp) aren't restricted to a fixed income bracket (a flaw in camps that increase the cost of admission due to having an activity that is in great demand). The things I did at camp showed that the councilors had a BIG focus on shared responsibility (as opposed to some councilors that expect too much of the campers or deride unwanted tasks as "Someone else's job"). The councilors talked a lot about community & the camp really did fell like a community and not just a place to stay for the summer. Overall it was very fun. I look forward to next summer! RID: 35818
Click to report rating    5/5/11   5     5     5     5     5   This is probably the BEST camp a child/young adult can go to. The experience at Camp Aldersgate is unmeasurable to any degree. I went to this Camp when I was younger for about 12 years straight and every summer I would look forward to going back. Its not just a place to socialize with new and old friends but a place that can turn your life into something you have never felt or seen before. You will find out who you really are after only a few days of camp. If I could describe Camp Aldersgate in one word I would say "MAGICAL". There has always been something about the camp that I could never put my finger on. I would highly recommend the living arts camp if you do decide to go for the first time. Maybe it's the staff or possibly the daily activities, I will never know what makes this camp so special. If you want the experience of a lifetime that will stay with you forever then please go to Camp Aldersgate and stay even if its for only a weekend retreat camp. Thank you for reading. RID: 35816
