Understanding that everyone’s experience at the zoo camp (ZC) is going to be as different as our own individual expectations,I will offer our experience two years in.Having sent our anxiety-riddled child to a number of camps with varying degrees of success, the ZC has been atop our list of great programmes. The experienced, mature, and socially engaging staff are great. When dropping your child you hope that staff will engage them with a youthful enthusiasm.Sadly, our experience with other camps has not always seen this. The ZC councillors greet our nervous child with a genuine welcoming and make him feel like a rock star every morning. When your child returns home with excitement from all that was accomplished in the day,it all seems so worthwhile. It’s especially gratifying to hear your child say,“I really want to go to camp tomorrow, the councilors are awesome”. For us, the ZC has been everything we could have hoped for and expected and we sincerely hope that it continues a high standard.

I found this camp very disappointing. My daughter was looking forward to interact somehow with the animals, feed them, clean their spaces, etc. But none of this happened, they were taken to the exhibits, like a regular visitor, they were drawing in the classrooms and that is about it. They were promised to have a close encounter with the tigers and it got cancelled last minute. Temperatures last year were over 28 C and they were not taken to the splash pad. I asked why and they told me that they did not like the kids get wet. A total waste of time and I drove 17 km just to give my daughter that chance. Do not recommend this camp at all. If you go at least you know what you are getting.

We have taken our Girl Guide group to bush camp twice and will be going for a third time this summer. Everything is excellent. The food is amazing and the activities and education are top notch. This is an annual event that all of the girls look forward to attending

hey, i stayed at this camp last summer and i personally thought it was really good. I went with my girl guide/pathfinder group and everyone seemed to have a good time. The staff were excellent and the tents were huge. It was also nice to have privacy away from the public. The food wasn't that great, but you can't have everything. Definatly worth checking out! :)
