I am 23 now, and this camp still haunts me to this day. I remember Kim screaming at us, belittling us in front of everyone, and it completely shattered my confidence in my riding. I do not remember much other than the fact that it was hard to take a shower, and Kim swore at us and yelled at us in the arena once. I also remember a little girl falling off and Kim getting mad at her for it. The little girl refused to ride for the rest of the week.

Kim was horrible. She frequently yelled at the children, and when they fell off of their horse she would punish them for it. They were allowed ONE shower during the week with a COLD HOSE. She cursed during lessons, called the children brats. Would not recommend!!

Horrible camp!!! I can't belive this. We are treated like slaves here. We sleep in a discussing basement with lots of dangerous items like table saws and old workout machines lying around. We do not "camp out with horses" we sleep on the sandy floor in the dome. If we mess up while riding, we are punished with both no riding for a couple days , and cleaning the barn by our selfs. We take showers once a week with a cold hose. I couldn't phone home to tell my parents that I needed them to pick me up. Kim has incredibly horrible experience with children and should not have the right to have control over us like this. I definitely do not recommend this for your kids!!! Try other kid friendly camps??????????

I have had really great experiences with this camp. If you are expecting a 'traditional camp' this is not it... BUT HHF has an amazing riding program, with tons of riding time and a big focus on really learning to ride, not just sitting on a horse. Campers sleep in the basement of the owner's home, but I honestly like that they are in the house. I also like that they keep the camp program small so there is lots of individual attention. The horses are fantastic, not your typical dull school horses. I also really liked that the campers got to have a lot of say in what activities they would like to participate in each day. It was great getting to see all the kids show off their riding skills on the last day of camp at 'Demo Day'. I would highly recommend this camp for kids who love horses and are keen to learn more, as that is focus of the camp.

I loved this camp! Both Kim and my councilor were amazing as they helped us improve our riding skills, along with our knowledge of horses. They are very good with kids and make us campers feel like family. All of the horses are very well trained and safe. The facilities are very clean and organized. I would definatly recomend this camp for horse lovers!

My 11year old daughter had a horrible experience. Kim and her counsellor were not naturals with kids. Website advertises camping out with horses...to our surprise this meant sleeping on the sand in the arena. Kim told the kids to go in the horse stalls if they needed to use the washroom (cause they're animals apparently), and when My daughter took a BM thinking to herself that this was odd, she not only pointed out how disgusting it was in front of the group on more than one occasion, but made her clean it up like a punished servant
Website advertises that kids sleep in family home...it's on cement floor in an unfinished basement with table saws, old exercise machines and dusty shelves...would never recommend or go back!

Wonderful camp, I love that it's small and campers are treated like family. Honestly the best value... campers receive 2 lessons daily in small groups, that are an hour long or more... that's hard to beat! Horses are of high quality and the riding facilities are beautiful.
