I was a employee for this company and i do not recommend. i put staff a 5 because i tried my best to keep it great. Facilities i put bad because i am not impressed with what they provided for us. Activities i put 3 because i tried my best but they didn't, they didnt provide us with pools or bowling ect for afternoons like other camps were provided and we weeren't provided with a budget either to supply our campers with things to do. We paid out of pocket for face paints and other stuff. Also they kept cancelling weeks without pay and would have weeks where they would only want two out of three of us working because "not enough kids" when we were promised a summer job. We are all in university needing money and i got paid three outta six weeks i worked. We struggled to find things for the kids to do because we weren't even working enough to pay out of pocket for the kids. They also never replied to us and weren't nice to us at all.

I am in Edmonton. My daughter's finger bone was broken and had a hand surgery because of this camp! My daughter attended this camp 2 weeks ago, they played volleyball in Terwillegar Rec center gym instead of soccer because of rain on July 19. My daughter's finger got injured when she caught volleyball. She is only 8.
Because her finger bone is broken, she had to have a hand surgery in U of A hospital last Friday ( July 26,2019) .
My daughter is a piano and violin player, her violin is level 5 now, I don't know if it will influence her finger's flexibility or not.
One week ago I left a message on royal city soccer website about this, nobody contacted me up to now.
So parents should consider if your kids are strong enough to catch a volleyball before you send your kids to this soccer camp.

My son was registered at the Royal soccer camp - south Winnipeg branch. I absolutely do not recommend this camp. It is very sub standard. They do not teach them anything related to soccer , they give the kids soccer balls and let them just kick around, no organized teaching or learning. For the swimming sessions , the pool remain open to the public while the kids are there ...their camp instructor do not get in the pool with them they just sit near by.... my son said a gentle man walked up to him at he pool and told him he liked his stunts??? How can a stranger be talking to 5 yr old at the pool ... where were the camp instructor????. I spoke to the camp instructor about it and she said they “usually keep an eye on them” . Ideally when you take 5 and 6 yr olds to the pool They need to be at the maximum arms length from you... I registered my son for 3 weeks but I took him out after 2 days .... this camp is very unorganized , unsafe and not recommended.

Absolutely do Not recommend. Avoid like the plague. Total waste of time and money. No alternate plans for rainout days. Management is useless. Concerns and complaints fall on deaf ears. They happily take your money but not willing to reimburse any portion for failure to provide promised services or have alternate plans, kids were bored silly. I could have done a better job myself. Kids learned nothing. Basically an expensive babysitting service. Sorry I wasted my hard earned money on these guys. Don’t know how they stay in business.

My kids loved this camp! They attended for 3 weeks and had a blast. Will definitely enroll them again next year. My only issue was that the inclement weather location was far, however staff ensured my children were kept in the shade at many points during hot days.

Staff doesn't seem qualified to treat with kids day to day situations (at least in my personal experience). Kids are not having too many activities to do. Good luck if you need to made a complain. I don't recommend this camping (Ontario, Scarborough location)

Kelowna location Very little soccer knowledge. My son was often bored. They say they get swimming half days but it's very vague on the amount. It turns out it's only 3 days of the 5. I suggest "no" as it's cheap and thats exactly what you get

Calgary Glenmore: All of the staff at this camp seem like great people and they are a tight knit group. I had two children enrolled in this camp a 5 yr old and 12 yr old, whenever I showed up to get them they were always so happy and informed me they had a great day! I caught my younger son crying himself to sleep because he missed one of the volenteers James so much, he called him his big brother and would spend all day with him just laying in the sun. My 12 year old son told me his favourite part of the day was Matts infamous power naps it is a new form meditation that essentially helps kids relax and focus more on soccer, clearly an essential part of soccer camp. The counsellors were very friendly and often would invite me to play soccer with everyone if I showed up early. This soccer camp is the best use of money, send your kids if you want them to have a great summer!

I sent my son to a Calgary location of this camp and frankly, it was the worst decision I ever made. It was a rainy week and they spent most of it in an arena hanging around. After an older child misbehaved one day and called 911 from the arena phone, nobody got to swim that afternoon. The supervision is so poor that my 5 year old son went there with a neon orange rain jacket that somehow didn't make it home with him, and of course nobody knew where it was. That's how closely monitored the little kids are - between the lost coat and the 911 call, I chose to forfeit my money for a second week at this camp this summer, and pay to send my son elsewhere. Don't do it - It's definitely not worth your money.

Biggest mistake.Avoid Royal city soccer at all cost. It's way over priced. The staff are untrained, uninvolved, sit around and play on their phones. They will make you register and pay, then tell you their swimming pool is full. And no refunds. This camp is false advertising and cost too much.

My son attended in 2015 and during t afternoon pool session he almost drowned as one of the supervisor's attention lapsed;my son,non-swimmer, drifted into deep water and was face down when a lifeguard rescued him. The young kids were supposed to be within arm's reach. When I brought this to head office in ON attention the response was pathetic. It took several calls to eventually find someone to talk to this about. I was promised a follow-up call, which never happened. Later the same week I observed the playground where the morning soccer portion took place. Two of the three supervisors were lying on the ground with backs turned and looking at their phones and only one was partially attentive to the children. When I confronted them one of them made the argument that it was their lunchtime. Just as a matter of fact -a child drowned in ON years ago attending one of the these camps. Make your decision as to whether you want to take this kind of chance with your child's safety

The worst camp ever. Kids didn't play soccer at all. The young girl who was their teacher doesn't know anything about soccer. She even told me I don't have to bring a ball because they will not play soccer anyway. Kids just walk around by themselves and did what they want to do. She was just sitting and watch them.

Worst camp ever! When I sent my daughter to this camp this summer, I was hoping she could learn some basic skills of playing soccer and some simple rules of the soccer game and even have some soccer games after learning. Nothing happened! My daughter and her friend got so bored since there was nothing to do. There was no organized activities at all except swimming in the afternoon. The employees there were lazy young kids, doing nothing but sitting there listening to the music. They had no intention to keep the kids busy. One afternoon, I went to pick up my daughter and her friend, no body even cared to come over to check. I stood there for a while, waiting at least one of them to come over. Nobody! What if I was a bad person? My lesson here is always check the reviews first before you sign up. Such waste of time and money!

Vancouver - Templeton location - 2015. Very low staff to child ratio. Untrained, unattentive staff. Very few organized activities. My kids reported that they would do one short activity each day and then maybe scrimmage, but mostly had free time. Kids were left unsupervised in the transition time between getting out of the pool and to the pick-up/play area. I arrived a few minutes early one day and there were two to three kids outside with no supervision. Soon all three "staff members" were outside with about half the kids. The other children were left in the change rooms to make it out on their own. No a huge problem if they were the only ones using the pool, but it is a public pool with lots of people coming and going from multiple entrances. The price it decent, but you get very little for your money. Would never send my kids to this camp again. Have gotten similar feedback from three other families.

I got drawn by the nice advertisement of this soccer camp. I thought that they will teach your kids the basic of soccer and a lot of activities. It was all FALSE for the camp location here at Brentwood, NW Calgary. I don't judge the staff and facilitators here but they all look highschool kids, my concern here is there's no ADULT facilitator, no supervisor/ camp leader. Activities?? No planned activity. They just play random stuff. Plus, I thought that there's a no swimming attire no swim policy? Because we didn't gave our daughter a swimming attire because we don't want her to swim. But when we picked her up, she's all wet because they forced her to swim. Next day, it was gloomy and drizzling so there's one girl that told all parents that it will be over at one of the locations. So I asked her where is the pick - up location. She gave us different locations and just check if they are there. Yeah, it is easy to tell it if you are not the parent. NOT WORTH IT! NO COORDINATION and NO PLA

This is the worst summer camp I have ever registered for my kids. I am so regretted that I did not check this website for people’s comment before registration. In sunny day, the kids had no rest room or shaded area to cool down and place lunch bag. Lots of kids got sun burn. The staff did not help for water refill. In rainy day, the kids stayed in a small smelly arena change room. And staff did nothing, kids were bored. On top of this, when change in the camp schedule due to bad weather there was no communication or clarity from the staff. I had to go several locations but still could not find them; I had to go home with my son in the end. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS CAMP! YOU WILL REGRET IF YOU DO SO.

Horrible experience!!! Waste of time and money. The staff literally doesn't do anything; the staff including the supervisor sits on the field while the kids are running their own show. On top of this, if there are changes in the camp schedule due to bad weather there is no communication or clarity from the staff. Neither the website or admin office is helpful. DO NOT Sign up your child for this camp!!!

I have to say that when I looked into this camp for my daughter I was drawn to it because of the soccer aspect. My daughter really enjoys the camp and the supervising staff is very attentive. My biggest issue at this point with this camp is that they are now ripping me off a payment of $155.00, I signed my daughter up for the week of the 18th to the 22nd, I sent in the registration on the 8th but due to a 2 week cancellation policy they will not refund me. How I am supposed to give 2 weeks notice when I only had 1 week in between signing her up and cancelling. They want to charge people and then rip them off and keep their money. It actually makes me really sad that nice people that are respectful and care about their jobs and the kids work for these crooks.

This is not the type of camp I would ever want to send my kids to. The indoor and outdoor setup of the camp was totally ridiculous. On an inclement weather day, campers had to walk over 10 mins to their "indoor" location. The spent practically the entire day outside even when there was a heat alert. Campers had to eat their lunch outside where ever there was space. This camp is not run properly.

My sons attended camp last week for the first time and loved it. They begged me to sign them up for another week, which I did. They enjoyed the soccer skills in the morning as well as the swimming and a soccer game in the afternoon. The counsellors were very personable and wonderful with the children.

I have found that at these camps you get exactly what is described- soccer and/or soccer themed games throughout the day, with a supervised swim every afternoon. Even on rainy days, the staff all put in a huge effort to ensure the kids are having fun, and safety definitely seems to be the number one concern for all of the staff. I love how relational they all try to be with my children, the kids always came home with stories of their counsellors! They also were EXHAUSTED at the end of the day- which shows they must be working hard all day! For the people who had negative things to say, try having some more patience and understand that the staff all seem to be working very hard to ensure your children have a safe and enjoyable week at the camp, but sometimes things don't go as planned! Just let it go, and encourage your children to have fun, I'm sure they will!

Send your kids here if you want to punish them and wast your money. If it rains, like it did this week, they will be stuck in a small room with 40plus kids watching Movies for hours. Soccer? What soccer? They played hot potatoes indoors. My son is 8 years old!!! And the camp councellors did nothing when my boy told them about bullying issues. They ignored him!!! Never again am I wasting my son's precious summer days at this hell hole!

My 5 and 6 yr olds were in the one week all day camp this week. If you want your kids to improve their soccer skills, this is NOT the camp for you. If you want them to play soccer and do some light skills for a few hours followed by supervised babysitting. then yes, this camp has good value. the camp leaders are really young students. My kids liked them. Not impressed when one of my kids came home sunburned on day two. Had a chat with the leaders, and that didn't happen again, as they made sure sunscreen got reapplied. I sent my kids who can't swim with life jackets, and they enjoyed the swim portion. hope that there is no inclement weather, as I doubt these young people have the skills to keep 30 kids happy and busy for an entire day indoors. (there were 3 leaders)

My 7 year old is stuck in the baby pool for the "supervised fun swim" at Londonderry camp. According to the lifeguards, supervisors have had difficulty keeping the younger kids within reach, and were given several chances. Finally lifeguards said if it happened again, the entire camp would be banned. I emailed head office since no mention of this possibility was on website. "Supervised fun swim" implies that there will be adequate supervision for kids to use the pool safely. Head office called camp supervisors to find "a solution to having the campers have some time in the larger pool when they attend swim today." Just picked up my kids and learned that my 7 year old had to sit out an hour and then had to wear a life jacket in the wading pool. Colour me confused.

Do not send your kids to this camp. After speaking with staff, they informed me that "due to fluctuating weekly enrollment" staff members had no job security for the summer. People were hired and laid off every week! When numbers were up they hired the next person, when they were down for the week the students had no job. They informed me that they were specifically told they would have work for the entire summer. The staff was mostly great with the kids but I wont support an organization that treats their staff like garbage. Also, terrible soccer field, grass not cut, which caused more mosquitoes. Head office is in Ontario which really hinders what they can do. OVERALL, TERRIBLE. My main issue is the company and the supervisor on site who was one of the most impersonal, blunt, crude people I have ever meant.
