Click to report rating    8/28/24   1     3     2     1     1   my son participated in the baltimore camp this year. He needed a refresher since it has been a few years since he played. What he got was a foul mouthed, disrespectful, and selfish coach. The coach was from a division 3 school in FL. If your kid goes to this camp make sure he does not have this coach. The organization needs to take the Bible verses off their website. THis camp was the opposite of what their website sells. RID: 54094
Click to report rating    7/12/24   1     2     2     1     1   My son is also younger, nobody near his age was in attendance. They did not follow the agenda set forth. Worse though were the yo-yos on site running this camp. They refused to allow my son to wear sunscreen or a hat. He came home sunburnt. They told me off upon drop-off for babying him. I assure you if I have an 8 year old at a tackle football camp in 100 degree heat, I do not baby him. I called the corporate office and they literally do not care. All they replied to was the age stating there were kids his age. I saw with my own 2 eyes there were not. That was the least concerning though. They also made fun of a child who almost had heat stroke. Never again! RID: 54040
Click to report rating    6/25/24   1     3     1     1     1   We had our kid at the San Diego camp. All the attention is paid to the older kids. Mine and all the other younger kids spent so much time standing around and watching. For the money I expected a lot more. This camp was a joke. Complete waste of money RID: 54029
Click to report rating    6/14/19   1     1     1     1     1   My sons camp starts this Sunday at NC State Univ. He is attending the overnight camp. I called to clarify the address to which field the parent meeting would be at. The game field is 15 minutes away. There is a NCSU sports facility behind the dorm. Good thing I called. They said the overnight campers will stay at NCSU. However, they just moved the practice field to Durham County Stadium. It’s about 30 minutes away from the dorm. Then lunch will be at NC Central Univ. I asked why they never communicated the change to me and they just apologized. I paid $1,000+ thinking I was sending my child to a great college and safe environment. Now, he’s going to one of the worst areas of one of the worst cities (murders, shootings, crime) in the state. I wouldn’t send him to a free camp in Durham let alone pay for it. This is a major bait and switch. When I got off the phone I checked the webpage. They are still advertising it to be at NCSU. I will be talking to Visa about the Visa guarantee. RID: 52677

9/5/18   1     1     1     1     1   We have attended football camp at Rice University, Texans, Michael Irwin Linebacker Academy-and all were excellent. This camp was awful from start to finish. After we registered, we did not receive any information about the camp until literally one or two days beforehand, despite me calling them. When my son came down with a fever and could not attend the camp, no one would call me back to discuss a credit for the future, they kept saying the cancellation department is reviewing it and will get back to me or putting me through to a voicemail. No one ever called me back for three months (while the Texans camp gave us a full refund when my son had the same illness a week later). The final time I called Coach Korper, the directoe, was horribly rude and unprofessional and again just transferred me to a voicemail. This camp is dishonest with poor service. There are so many good ones. Avoid this one at all costs. RID: 52235
8/2/18   1     1     1     1     1   My son attended the Virginia camp and I volunteered as a father counselor. The whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. The whole thing was terribly unorganized. We stayed on a small college campus but practice was at a local HS field to which we were bused each day. The coaches were not what was advertised and there was no professional player as advertised. I agree with others that this program is a money scheme. We left before it was even over. I apologized for leaving but it was just not worth our time and my son was miserable. He has continued to play football despite this miserable experience. Do not waste your money. I got no response to my concerns and I did not even think of requesting a refund. RID: 52130
Click to report rating    12/26/17   1     4     1     1     1   Attended the Dallas camp. Unorganized, coaches are so so. Beware of the sub-par equipment rental. Not worth the money at ALL! RID: 51551
Click to report rating    7/16/17   5     5     5     5     5   My son attended this camp. He stayed on campus. I think this is a good experience for soon to be Seniors. The beginning was some what unorganized checking in however. The structure and sport was awesome! My son also received a MVP and this was his first year attending. I would recommend this camp. RID: 51034
Click to report rating    4/11/17   1     3     1     1     1   My 3 boys attended a camp in Orlando, Florida several years ago and it was a waste of time and money. It was basically a week of football practice in the middle of the summer. The favorites were the kids who have attended multiple camps. They hand out 'All-American' awards to certain repeat attenders to motivate them to attend other camps. The coaches were ok but many kids were forced to play other positions than theirs to be able to have complete teams. Don't waste your time or money. There are many other camps that are much better. Go to a position specific camp to improve your skills in the off season rather than over-pay for this week of practice. RID: 50620
Click to report rating    12/23/16   4     4     5     5     5   My son attended the camp held at NC State in Raleigh. He enjoyed the entire camp, even though it was hard work. He learned a lot and had the chance to run drills and get some hits in. He won MVP for his age group and is very excited about attending bowl week in Atlanta. He will definitely attend o-d camp NC State 2017. RID: 50305

8/3/15   4     4     3     4     3   My 12 year old attended the St. Louis Camp in 2014, played in the All American Bowl game, and attended the 2015 Dallas camp. He enjoyed everything about the camp. He is looking foward to attending again next year. RID: 48992
Click to report rating    7/1/15   1     3     3     1     1   Big waste of money. Even though they say everyone gets equal attention it's not true. Coaches pick their favorite kids then give them all the attention. Everyone else they could care less about. Signed up for Qb training my son got a total of 4 snaps under center. For 4 days of camp. Talked to head coach and corporate headquarters. They said they would fix it nobody did. Don't waste your money. RID: 48801
Click to report rating    4/14/15   1     2     1     1     1   They do not watch your kids. My son was beat up in his room by other campers. He was 11 and placed with 16 year old boys who watched porn. We contacted the camp and they did not return calls . Not even head quarters. Son was sunburnt with blisters all over face and lips. Had little to no water breaks. Favorited kids that attend previous camps. Complete waste of money. RID: 48591
Click to report rating    1/20/15   3     2     1     3     1   I was a Div 1AA coach and worked the camps in the early 2000's for about 5 years. At first it was a great camp with a number of Div 1 coaches mixed in some pro guys. There was coaching going on but then management started to rip off coaches and talk down to us. Slowly guys didn't return and they were filling the ranks with bad HS and JC coaches. Organization was poor and the focus was driven by the money they would make in their over priced store. Practices were stopped so that NFL guys could "talk" to the kids. These talks included a picture with the NFL player - for $15. As a coach with the HS seniors, most wanted to practice instead be subject to these talks. Recently I was talking to a coach that actually worked at one of these camps in California and he expressed all of things that I had experienced. There are a number of good camps out there. This is most definitely not one of them RID: 48306
Click to report rating    1/7/15   1     1     2     5     1   This camp is a waste of time and the employees don't care about your kids. Kids are not treated fairly. Save your money because that all they want. I have been to the all American bowl as well and that wasn't a great experience either because players were assaulted after the game from the opposing teams parents. RID: 48264
Click to report rating    9/25/14   5     5     5     5     5   I attended the Myrtle Beach camp and believe me it was fantastic! My son was no where near the best, but he got individualized attention from his OL coach. It is definitely one of the best groups to work with. They all CARE about the kids! RID: 48015
Click to report rating    8/4/14   5     5     5     4     5   My son attend the camp in Flagstaff. It was a great camp and learned a lot. Lots a attention given to fundamentals and footwork. He was an extended day camper and loved the pace of the camp. First day there were some problems but it was fixed the next. Great group of coach's and helpers. As for only sleep over campers winning awards, my son got MVP for his position and as stared early was an extended day camper. Already Signed Up FOR Next year. RID: 47774
Click to report rating    7/25/14   1     4     1     1     1   The "Director" was in over his head from the start. It was obvious no planning was done. Lunch was an hour late the first day, didn't have enough, had to go back for more. Pizza on the first night did not arrive until after 10pm. The kids are doing three a days and can't get sleep either because they are waiting on food all night? Have the pizza ordered and delivered 10 minutes after they get out of practice. Simple. The camp director at Chapman tried to make the father counselors film his camp. That's not part of their title. Their is a "paid" videographer position available on website but they don't hire someone. They ask someone to miss their kid's camp to instead film for their website. This is while the O-D staff is tossing a football around. The paid staff tossing a ball around. They look at the Father Counselors as free labor and it's a shame. Find another camp. Being an ex-NFL'er does not make you qualified to be a Director. Sorry. RID: 47691
Click to report rating    7/25/14   4     5     4     4     4   Just had my son attend the camp in Buffalo. This camp is only for the most dedicated football players. In 4 days he went through 27 hours of onfield training. Very well organized coaches. As for the MVP awards, keep in mind these are not given to the best players but the players who performed the drills with the best technique, which I agree with even though it meant my son did not get one. The other 13 year old lineman did even though my son destroyed him due to his size and strength advantage. This actually made me happy, the other kid's technique was better and he deserved it. RID: 47689
Click to report rating    7/17/14   1     4     1     1     1   Attended camp this year. It was my son's 5th year with OD and the experience has been getting worse each year. There was no plan for inclement weather, they spent more time scrimmaging than I've ever seen and the scrimmaging was done on air. My son was in the OL and they did do footwork drills, and first steps, then went right to the scrimmaging. The highlight for my son, was when his coach told him that he personally never had the grades to play anywhere good. Great job O-D. Keep getting those coaches that know how to be a positive role model. RID: 47616
Click to report rating    7/15/14   4     5     4     4     4   Good camp if you are looking to hit and play game speed before the season. My son had a good camp, we'll be back. RID: 47595
Click to report rating    7/10/14   3     4     3     1     1   The camp was just ok. The staff were all good players and coaches but seemed like they just wanted to do their job and get out of there. Orlando has a lot of weather issues but it felt like they cut practice time short a little too quickly. 33% of the camp time was cut due to weather. There was no back up plan to move indoors. They could have done some classroom sessions but were not prepared for it. The last day was supposed to have 3 hours of live football. That was cut to about an hour due to weather that never materialized. They could have easily stayed on the field for 2 more hours and left only when the weather turned bad. One of my sons was here for QB camp but spent most of his time standing around. He did his live play well so that cut it short so someone else could practice. There also were some favorites who were less skilled than my son (dropped snaps, threw wobbly interceptions, etc) while my son completed everything he was suppoese to do. RID: 47564
Click to report rating    6/16/14   5     5     5     5     5   This is a great camp if you love football. If you want to play flag or touch football, then its not for you. They do an excellent job at matching up ages and sizes. Your kid will get hit though, and have a chance to hit. If they love football, they will love this camp. If you love football and are pushing your kid to do this, they will probably hate the camp. It is hard and the days are long , but good football. RID: 47405
Click to report rating    11/24/13   1     4     1     1     1   I had 2 sons attend the Orlando camp, what a joke, you had false advertising to the fullest! the owner all the way down to the managers are all money driven. please do not waste your time or money on this bogus camp!!!! i'm not disgruntled i'm just telling the truth both of my sons were invited to the bowl game but opted not to attend. this organization do not have the children best interest in mind.......please believe me!! please stay away from O-D RID: 46301
Click to report rating    7/25/13   1     2     2     2     1   I was very disappointed this year, really felt like I wasted my time and money. A Lot of standing around with 35-40 kids working on one drill. They should've broke up into groups so the kids got a lot more practice. Almost no hitting this year, very sad! I'm done with OD RID: 45361
7/25/13   1     3     1     1     1   Don't waste your money! We attended Flagstaff AZ, camp. Wow, couldn't believe the blatant cases of "coach's pets". The awards are a joke, and are in NO WAY given to best players!!! They are only given to players who are overnight campers (they pay more money). I felt really bad for all the really good players overlooked, because they were not overnight campers. I saw 7-8 year olds who never played, were yelled at constantly to pay attention, and they received an MVP award because they were overnight campers, while really focused 7-8 year olds were overlooked! Believe me, I wasn't the only one who felt this way! This camp is a money racket! RID: 45353
Click to report rating    7/6/13   1     4     1     1     1   My son went to the camp in charlotte it was our first time going to a od camp. The things that i didn't like was the coach for the linemen ages 11 and under he showed little intress in the kids it was lke he didn't want to be there the drills that he ran was so basic that it reminded me of when i coached five and six year olds. Their was only a total of 80 kids at the camp so match up were un fair i personaly saw a 12 year old kid smash a 8 year old and beleave me it wasen' t a good thing to see( he realy hurt the kid) . I also beleave tha the mvp award doesent go to the best player for the position i think that it based on how many time a kid has been to camp.my son wasthe biggest, strogest, most aggresive lineman forhis age group at the camp period and the gave the mvp to a kid that was verry timid in conparason we had parents and staff come tell us how bad they felt for my son. I asked the coach what happend and he told me that the award would have went to my son " but he talked in the RID: 45033
Click to report rating    7/3/13   2     2     1     1     1   Son plays center and repeatedly told coach he needs reps. We are into the last day and has yet to get reps. Too much time spent in a ghost scrimmage with kids filling for absent players. RB “filling in” at the LG position because the LG was in medical tent. RB got no reps. 2 players off to the side for 45 mins and coach neglected to include them in reps. Time wasted on trying to prepare for game. Painfully obvious coaches had no plan. 30-45 minutes spent on conditioning while they talked about what to do. My son gets conditioning from school. They spent 15 mins on instructional contact before breaking off to do play walk throughs. Player eval system is biased and not merit based. There is a perception it's not how well one does but rather on how long one has been coming to camp. Players are allowed to game the system and change at the last minute to the side of the ball they think they can win. Coaches allow their personal pets to be considered on both sides of the ball. RID: 44984
1/1/13   1     4     2     1     1   This program is all about money and not football. They use the youth to fund their High school All American Bowl. Do Not waste your money on this camp!! Please do your research on the net before spending your hard earned money on this camp! Go to the better business Bureau and read their horrible reviews ! RID: 43291
Click to report rating    7/16/12   2     1     2     2     1   Camp is very poorly organized as a whole. The camp office is very slow to respond to questions. The coaching staff is nothing like what is suggested by their advertising. While it was the least of our concerns, don't expect any recognizable players to show up, so don't waste your money on the junk to have signed (if you choose to go at all). The director for our region was completely unorganized. Our location and date changed after registering, and we were not notified of this at all. I was only when I went on the website and saw that it was "TBD"! When I called, I was informed that there had been problems with the contract negotiations. Did they not think it was important to notify those already registered? This camp is a rip off and poorly operated. Don't waste your money. RID: 41745
Click to report rating    6/25/12   2     3     2     1     1   Definitely not worth the money. False advertisement. The pro that was supposed to show up did not, the coaches were not all college and NFL coaches. I got very rude and unhelpful responses to my complaint. Do not waste your money! RID: 41427
Click to report rating    8/2/11   1     5     1     1     1   O-D Camp fails to deliver on its lofty promises. The camp is poorly run, the equipment is shoddy and unsafe, and players are overmatched with much larger, more experienced opponents. The result is injuries and disappointment. Complaints to the president of the company are ignored. RID: 36587
