Two of the 3 staff are clueless about interacting with young children. Expectations are not developmentally appropriate as children are given long lyrics to memorize daily beginning with Day One and then humiliated in front of the class when returning (Day Two) without having material memorized. At the end of the first week they were given 3 long songs (they had never even sung in class) to memorize over the weekend. We are talking about nine-year olds! Humiliating children who are honest about not being able to memorize this volume of music is akin to the Simon on American Idol-type of treatment. My son was actually asking me if he should lie about his inability to memorize the material in order to avoid being singled-out by one of the instructors. I sent a note to this instructor and he was then further singled-out by being removed from class and interrogated by these 2 teachers as to why he told his mother he was being singled-out. Cluelessness on how to guide children is apparent.
