6/15/12   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Good News is an excellent Evangelistic camp. The counselors go through a rigorous application process to make sure that they are right for the job. My son went last yr., his first time at a residential camp, the warm and loving staff kept him so busy that he didn't have time to get homesick. The activities are endless, and the ministry is wonderful. From my experience it seems that once children go to this camp, they are lifers. They go as campers and return as counselors or volunteers. I would recommend this camp to anyone, especially to first time residential campers. My son is now campsick, he can't wait to get back to Camp Good News, and this year he is bringing a friend. What the children learn is priceless and they have friendships and memories to last a lifetime. RID: 41312

Click to report rating    12/14/11   5     5     5     5     5   I agree with some of the other comments. It is an old school camp. You can't even use your cell phone unless your in the "hot spots". lol Especially with alot of kids having phones. It disconnects them from the world for at least a week. I would even say its good for who ever goes whether it be campers, counselors and volunteers. It gives everyone a break from the busy world. I was a camper, counselor and volunteer in almost every section of camp and it has come a long way to keep up with modernization but keeping the "old school" camp experience. I cant say enough about it. i recommend to anyone interested in sending there kids or going to volunteer to stop in and see for your self during the summer season. RID: 37509
Click to report rating    12/6/11   5     5     5     5     5   I was a camper here for years, then became a volunteer, and eventually became staff. I love CGN! I always felt so at home there. I'd gone to a few different Christian camps, but this one was my favorite. They campers don't tend to be "clique-y," and I never had any trouble making friends. They have a lot of great activities--archery and the horseback riding program were my favorites. The staff is great, they always have fantastic speakers, and they genuinely care about the young people who attend their camp. I HIGHLY advise anyone to give CGN a try. RID: 37451
Click to report rating    12/6/11   4     4     3     5     5   old school camp fun. I enjoyed it as a camper, a counselor, and an adult volunteer. Though I have some hesitation about the mission and means of CEF, I wouldn't hesitate to send my kids there- I would just be sure I am also having conversations with them about what they learn and helping them process the spiritual questions they come away with. Click to report rating    12/6/11   5     5     5     5     5   I've sent all my children to this camp (six!) It is excellent. They have a great ratio of staff to children. I highly recommend them. It is safe also (they do extensive background checks and their policies are extensive so that children aren't left alone with another adult or child). RID: 37449
Click to report rating    11/18/11   5     4     5     5     5   We LOVE this camp. Good "old-school" quirky camp fun and very loving people. The programs are wonderful and the gospel message is presented in a clear and attractive way. It's fun! RID: 37300
Click to report rating    8/18/11   5     5     5     5     5   this camp has been such a amazing blessing to my life from camper to working here now the massage of the Lord is in everything and you can feel him all around. the Camp is such a nice place and is always being worked on to make it better RID: 36764
Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     4     5     5     5   The ministry of cgn nh is to evangelize children and make disciples through the power of the gospel of Jesus the Christ. They accomplish this goal through honest relationships built with each camper. Each counselor is trained to recognise the heart of each camper as they interact throughout the week. This focus allows for serious investment in the lives of the children and leads to spirit lead heart change. RID: 36726
Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is one of the best I have been to. The staff are fantastic and the kids always have such a fun time! Their horse program is also so much fun! The kids learn to ride as well as to take care of their horses. All in all, Camp Good News is the best place around to send your kid! RID: 36725
Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     5     5     5     5   The kids had a fabulous time. In the past they went to a different camp, but now they love this camp the most. We love the way that the team leaders kept it a positive atmosphere always cheering for the other side while having some stiff competition. RID: 36724
Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     5     5     5     5   As a camper, this camp changed my life. As an adult, I am continually impressed by the high standards of the camp leadership, the integrity and commitment of the summer staff, and the care given to each child. Staff go through a rigorous training process to prepare them for the care-giving, program, and ministry aspects of camp. Child protection policy is meticulously trained and strictly enforced, so that campers are under 24-hour supervision and are never alone with one adult. Many volunteers give generously of their time to keep costs low (parents pay only half of what it costs for their child to spend a week at camp). The facilities are old but well-maintained. Many campers I know return year after year, and quite a few former campers have become counselors and leadership staff in order to share with the next generation how God has worked in their lives. Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     4     5     5     4   Very caring towards the children. They do their best to help children build character and to understand the love that God has for them. Three weeks later and my children are still singing the "Crayon Song" and talking about next year. RID: 36719
