    | | 9/9/20 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I came to Buck’s Rock kicking and screaming. I spent the first two weeks moving in-between reading in my bunk and various theatre rehearsals. When I left camp my first year, I was going into my first year of eighth grade. It’s not quite obvious on the outside, but it was so clear to my parents and friends –even myself- when I got back that I was 100 times more confident than I had been in seventh grade. I may not have known who I wanted to be or who I was, but I was able to simply be. There aren’t enough thanks in the world for the gratitude I have for Buck’s Rock. I found a home when I didn’t even think I needed another one. I’m nowhere near the person I want to be yet, but I’ve been heading there since 2010 since I stepped into New Milford, CT. One day I will be, and I want to help everyone find the person they want to be. Buck's Rock is the best place in the world. You'll never regret it. Those 7 years spent there brought me to my career and college, future and friends. I miss it. | |

 | 8/19/17 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 1 | I would absolutely not recommend this camp. I have a 9-year old son who just finished at Buck's Rock Camp. New ownership has changed what I had read to be an unbelievably amazing camp and my experience with the new owners Noah & Smadar Salzman was disturbing & disheartening. My son was registered for 2-week Jr Camp program. My son's father/my partner died May 2nd this year, 2 days before my son's 9th birthday - it was a sudden and devastating loss for us both. 8-days after I had dropped my son off at camp, I was called to pick him up. I was never called by the owner/director Noah nor did he return any of my phone calls or meet with me when I picked my son up. I was/am amazed at how little interest & compassion there was for my son or me by the director and owners of this camp. I am so very saddened to think, given how cold and callously I was treated, how my son must have been treated while at this camp. I am so appalled and outraged at the treatment of a 9-year grieving child. | | | |
