This camp was also open in the summer of 2011 and it should not have been allowed to stay open for the 3012 season as well. The rooms during that year were unsafe, not up to code and the girls had to sleep on the floor. The kitchen, dining room and pool were completely unfinished and filthy as well. There was no cleaning staff and the cam was very understaffed. There was also only one phone at the camp and the girls were not allowed to use it when they wanted to. The phone was often unmanned. Halfway through the camp season Jill Powell was acting very oddly and fired almost all of the staff and the girls had to go home early.

Just all around no good. Directors were never around. Counselors were left to run the camp themselves with no training. Never stuck to daily schedule and campers spent most of the day just hanging out, not doing activities. Meals would be hours late. Pool disgusting. Dining room unfinished. Wasn't even a camp nurse the first couple of weeks. Their camp mission is good, but their delivery is a disaster.

My daughter has attended Camp MoveIT and it was the most amazing thing that I had ever seen. Not only was the Camp beautiful to see, but it was well structured and an amazing growing experience for my daughter. The Inspirers truly lived up to their names and they took the girls under their wings, as did Jill. My child learned to swim and ride a bike at Camp MoveIT and the picture that is most priceless to me is one of Jill standing at the foot of the pool congratulating her when she swam the first lap of her life. Jill personally visited potential campers, got to know each family, and she made a point to provide scholarships to kids, like mine, who otherwise would not have been able to afford summer camp. I don't know what the issues were this year, but I know the passion and love that Jill has put into Camp MoveIT and I don't believe that a year of illness should define a life's work. Get to know the camp yourself rather than rely on the words of a few disgruntled employees.

I <3 Camp Moveit! I dont know why 3 of the Inspirers are trying to take down the camp. They got fired for being disrespectful.Jill does whatever she can to make the girls feel at home.I think I would know after 4 years.I read some of the other reviews and I would like to say, 7 counselors did not leave 2nd session only 2 left because they were being disrespectful or using the internet and two more left because they had commitments at other jobs back home.I hear fellow campers trash talking the camp and all I can say is listen to yourself!maybe you had a year not as amazing as the others, so what!think about all your past years and how amazing they were.I would like to say to the Inspirer that quit 2nd session.you say you came to the camp because you cared about all of the campers, but you are taking away our home and making up terrible lies and taking down a camp that Jill has been working on for 20 years!stop trying to ruin our experience forever just because you had a strange 4 weeks.

i have been to this camp for two years and i love it. jill is amazing and so kind. she is so much fun to be around and is so caring. the reason why the counsler was fired was because she was trash talking the camp and she was not left in the road she was left at a gas station to be picked up. i bet if someone was trying to ruin your buisness that you worked on for 20 YEARS you would fire them to. the pool is not a dirty brown and the bunks look like hotel rooms. jill treats everyone with kindness and the counslers left not because jill was treating them badley but because they wanted to. the activites are great and i would recomend this camp to anyone. there are no cliques and everyone there is extremely nice.

it was a hard year at the camp. the rooms were never dirty, they may have been slightly messy from having 8 girls live in them though. everyone wash having fun and all the girls bonded right away. jill and brigid spent time creating amazing activities for the campers, but had to deal with all the lies on websites and multiple issues otherwise that were important. the camp is still fantastic and doesnt deserve anything that came at them this year. stay strong jill!

This is a camp that no parent should send their child to. They speak about treating girls well yet most of the staff quit within the first 2 weeks as they were treated so bady by the director Jill. My daughter is 12 and atrtended this camp hoping to have a rewarding experience. She did not have anything of the kind. She reported that the meals were never on time, there was ne dedicated kitchen staff or nurse. Her favorite councelor was fired on the spot when she reported to a visiting camp expert that the camp was not run well and that many of the girls were unhappy. This councellor was not even allowed to say goodbye to the girls. She was driven by Jill out of the grounds and left on the road. That should be criminal. The grounds are badly kept and dirty and the pool is full of brown water. I beleive that Jill is very unwell and should not be allowed to run anything that has to do with humans. I feel sorry for her but she should really close this camp.

This camp looks good on the web and on paper, but it is not what it seems. During session one in 2012, there was no camp nurse for the majority of the session. After session one, 7 of 8 of the Inspirers left, leaving an absence of counselors. Three cooks have also left. This is because this camp can be a very unhealthy environment. Campers and employees were publicly demeaned and cussed at by the directors. The pool failed health inspections but was still used. The candy concession that parents paid for wasn't ready until days into session one. The daily schedule is rarely honored which means a lot of down time for campers. Please research and consider this camp carefully before paying for and attending it.

This camp is so unstable that the things campers paid for we're never available when they were at the camp. I went to see my daughters room and it was really dirty. I will never send daughter there again. Also the staff is not well trained. It's not the staffes fault it is the owners Jill Powell.

This year will be my fourth year at camp MoveIt. I love it. Last year they moved the camp to NY from ME and not everything was ready but we still had a blast. I have seen pictures of all the work they have done and I can't wait. Jill is really amazing. We even keep in touch during the year and make trips to NYC which are really fun.
