Click to report rating    7/26/18   3     4     4     4     4   We supported this camp by sending our kids here for the better part of a decade, always giving extra to help kids in need. Numerous families 'discovered' both camps through us. When another family member needed help to attend, they wouldn't discount a penny. It hurt to ask, and hurt more to be refused. Heartless. Click to report rating    7/15/17   4     4     5     4     5   My daughter loves Chimney Corners. She thinks it's is the greatest place on earth. The kids are beyond down to earth, relaxed, non judgemental or cliquey- at any age. The kids learn so much about caring for each other, being compassionate citizens and positive female leaders. It's a very low key camp where kids can truly relax and distress. The only downside is that- it may be little too relaxed and unstructured. Your 9 year old is expected to remember to put bug spray on (the camp has very high grass), sunscreen, find their own time to shower (which isn't everyday). They are roaming in woods, picking up goats, jumping in lakes and no one is really monitoring their personal cleanliness. You really have to be ok with them being dirty- it's like camping for 4 weeks. However, my daughter loves it so much I can overlook this- a little. RID: 51028
Click to report rating    6/21/17   5     5     5     5     5   chimney is the BEST camp ever! i've been going to CCC for a year and it was the greatest experience of my life! the counselors are sooo great, the food is delicious, and the activities are amazing! I can't wait to go back for my 2nd year, and i highly recommend sending your daughter here if you have one! RID: 50859
Click to report rating    8/9/16   5     4     5     5     5   Our 9 y.o. daughter went for the first time this year and came back calling it her 2nd home. The staff are loving and fun and do all that they can to support the girls have a great summer. It's a camp - no frills, no electricity or running water in the bunks (wash house has both) - with girls running wild in the best sense possible and growing more confident and independent every day! The girls do everything here - from "waitressing" to cleaning their cabins to waking each other up in the AM - and some of responsible behavior seems to be sticking, even at home! Our daughter came back even better than when we sent her off and we all look forward to her returning every summer. Mom's Weekend (name changing soon) was great, even for this mom who thinks camping is a Holiday Inn. I also love their motto - PACE (Positive Attitude Changes Everything) and AGAPE. It really is a special place. RID: 49905
Click to report rating    1/30/16   5     5     5     5     5   Our daughter tried the starter camp last year and is headed back for the traditional 4-week session. The atmosphere is truly nurturing, with an emphasis on fun and camaraderie. As someone who went to a camp with lots of spoiled, catty girls who insisted on blow drying their hair every day, I love that this camp is truly the opposite of that. Feminist quips adorn the bathroom walls. Counselors are smart and sweet, and often have grown up as Chimney Campers. The cabins are rustic, with no electricity or running water. (Bathrooms and showers are in a separate building that does have electricity and hot water.) This is not a fancy camp. It's camp. And everything camp should be, in my opinion: new friends, songs, sports, arts & crafts, etc. RID: 49407
Click to report rating    12/30/15   4     3     2     3     3   Sent my daughter here for a month in July and she came back feeling ho-hum about it. She liked the staff a lot but said the facilities were tired and the activities were on the boring side. She had the same 6 activities for 30 days straight and wished she could have switched them up 1/2 way through and gotten her top choices. Met some nice friends - just wished her quiet time didn't have to be truly quiet (wasn't allowed to chat w cabin mates):( . She wants to try a different camp going forward. RID: 49353

6/18/13   5     5     5     5     5   Chimney Corners is truly the best place in the world. It has taught me so much, including to be positive, responsible, kind, and to overall be a better person. Without a doubt, Chimney Corners has made me the confident young woman I am today and I don't think any other institution or camp of any sort could have had the same effect. Chimney truly is a magical place and really does change lives. RID: 44805

Click to report rating    9/4/12   5     5     5     5     5   For my daughter, a 5-time camper, CCC is a highlight of her life! She has made lifelong friends, learned and tried new activities, become more independent and confident, and benefited from counselors who are excellent role models. She has her Chimney Corners future all mapped out. Moms Weekend, a unique feature of this camp, is a very special experience as well. RID: 42588
