I am posting this as a past camp counselor. I loved the Jesus centered and focused ministry I was able to experience at this facility, however since the new director came into PHOC in 2016 I have changed my opinion very drastically. He refused to hire any of the old and original staff that had been working there with me. It was very sad and angering because he basically shoved his own staff from his previous camp inside the PHOC and made a new life without its old staff. Very hurtful action was taken and I have heard he now makes campers sleep outside once a week during their visit when it used to be a choice during the week long stay. I do not recommend this camp, as it is forcing children to do otherwise their own decisions. I would not recommend any college or person being led here by God to work here for the new director either. It hurts me to post this, but I need to help future staff members in any way I can possibly can. I pray it goes back to what it used to be during my time.
