Unirondack is truly an amazing place. I've been going there for many years as a camper, and I see it as my true home. The activities are fun, and the environment is more welcoming and inspiring than anywhere I've ever been. It really helps me grow and heal as a person, and the staff is wonderful. On another note- it's labeled "religious" on this website, but it really isn't. While it's technically a Unitarian Universalist camp, we don't do anything I would consider religious. The "worships" are really about nurturing yourself and connecting with the world around you. Camp Unirondack is an amazing experience, and I would highly recommend it!

Retro style camp. Rustic and fun. The kids are accepted as the individuals they are and they keep them busy, busy, busy and HAPPY! Small camp so everyone really gets to know eachother. The kids have a voice and are respected, which is invaluable. This camp is listed as "religious"- It's a Unitarian Universalist camp but, coming from completely NON religious people, we found the camp to emphasize not religion, but dignity, respect, caring and the value of each and every person. Liberal, socially conscious crowd. We felt right at home despite not being UU. (We visited as a family and one of our kids goes to the camp. The other one is waiting not so patiently till he's old enough to go, too.)

Great experience for our daughter, a first-time camper. She's going back for her second summer.

Everything is amazing! I wouldn't trade my time there for the world. I would like to say though the showers are very much "camp showers" when you get home you will have a great respect for water pressure and temperature. My advice girls use the "Hydrofax" shower boy the red or blue one

Wow! My daughter said it was the best summer she ever had. She met a lot of kids she really liked. The staff was amazing. I think for the money it is slightly cheaper than camps like it.

Unitarian Unversalist camp in the western Adirondacks. Very generous staff-to-camper ratio, creative programs, lots of fun. Lots of emphasis on independent thinking, group decision-making, and acceptance of uniqueness.
