My 13 year old daughter has struggled with her weight for a very long time. Her pain and frustration was heartbreaking for me to see. No matter how hard she tried to lose weight on her own, it never worked. I finally started doing research to see what resources were available to help her. When I came across Camp Shane and started reading about how long it had been established and how many children lost weight and had fun in the process...it seemed too good to be true. I spoke directly with the Amy who has been so helpful and caring, and also directly with the owner David. I have come to know them, as my daughter has been to camp twice... she loved it so much. They really care about the issue of childhood obesity. In addition to diet and exercise, the kids receive psychological counseling and nutrition classes. My daughter lost a significant amount of weight and made great friends at camp. Her letters to me from camp were enthusiastic...she was so happy to finally see the weig
