This was our 10 year old's first sleep away camp experience. He went with his many of his soccer team mates and most ended up calling their parents to pick them up early. The 17 year old counselors in charge of them had no training and verbally abused them, took away their phones so they couldn't call home, took their candy, made them run laps and wrestle with each other even though they didn't want to. There was not enough food at meal time and many of the boys said the drinking water was terrible. Even though the weather was good, and they had been told they would have free time to swim, they weren't allowed to. This is not a good camp for young kids.

My son and his soccer team attended their league's highly respected soccer camp last summer. We thought there would be no reason to do any research into this camp as it was sure to be a fun, safe time. However, there were 38 ten year old boys within my son's barrack which was supervised by only two 17 year old soccer players who had no counselor training at all. It was completely boot camp style supervision including use of swear words, name calling and insulting. They were called idiots, stupid, and used the f-word at the boys. The counselors were plain mean. Three days into the camp most of the boys had chosen to go home (in tears), while only 10 out of 38 remained in that particular barrack for the week. All the boys seemed a bit traumatized by what they'd experienced. The boys also felt that the food, and even the water, tasted bad. There was no system to picking up your kids. You had to find your child in the chaos of hundreds of milling children, and didn't have to checkout at all
