Click to report rating    4/12/23   5     5     5     5     5   My camper attended for the first time last year and had an incredible time. The setting is rustic, and the value seems to be more based on the interpersonal relationships that are developed and cultivated, rather than the rigid scheduling of the campers every moment. We really liked this approach and would recommend it! RID: 53697
Click to report rating    2/19/18   5     5     5     5     4   This will be my 6th year at camp, which means I'm am gonna be in Winds for my last time. This camp is really special for because my family used to come before i did and they told me they had a great time. The counselors are awesome. The food isn awesome. You keep the friends that you have now and still keep the old. Even though there are fish in the lake it is still a very fun experience to swim with them, it is like swimming with dolphins. ( except you are not riding on them). I would highly recommend this camp for your kids. RID: 51663

9/19/17   5     5     5     5     5   As a of 2018 it will be my 7th summer here. I'm going to be so sad when it ends. I'm currently in PV (Pioneer Village) so this year will be my last summer as a camper since I will be a 2nd year. I started off in Woodlands, I have to say I had a little time adjusting as I had never been away from home for more than 1 night. The counselors were really sweet and helpful. I soon adjusted really quick after that, I did a lot of activities and socialized more. I didn't want to leave when 2 weeks were up. As I "grew up" here I learned a lot of things, and made a ton of friends. The friends you make here are ones you'll never forget even if you don't stay in touch. From being at this camp I have so many friends I know I can always rely on> I also have international friends. Although this camp may not be for everyone, I think this camp is amazing. If you do choose to come here, you won't regret it! "This is goodnight, and not goodbye hmmm hmm" "When I am with you there's no place I'd rather be" RID: 51356
Click to report rating    6/22/17   4     2     5     3     5   Best camp ever!!! However not for everyone. Making this my 5th year going, I have enjoyed it each year. Yeah so what the food is not super quality and there's no air conditioning, this can change your childhood experience, this camp will make your child more independent. This will also make your child tougher. They will come back from camp being brave enough to swim in cold waters, living in a tent for weeks, surviving without electronics! I'd say this is what every kid needs, however if you would like to find a camp that pampers your child, then this camp is not for you RID: 50867
Click to report rating    2/22/17   5     5     5     5     5   I am camper at this camp and I have been going for exactly five years. This year I am in winds. I have too tell you this camp is one of my favorite camps in the world. I make friends and keep them through out my time there. I see them every year. The staff is always helps you with your problems and never lets you down unless it is dangerous. But other wise his camp is the best. I would recommend it too people who like to be outside and love to sing dance and do other activities. I love his camp and so will your daughter or son.?? RID: 50465

8/30/16   5     5     5     5     5   This is my kids 4th year at Incarnation. My son is 15 and my daughter is 11. They both love this camp so much. They do not even care if I show up for visiting day. Both of my kids are a bit shy, but the staff is wonderful and is incredibly good at making sure they are having a good time. The food is regular camp fare with plenty of healthy options. The activities are varied and keep the kids busy. The pictures, I see almost daily, speak for themselves..the huge smiles on my kids faces show what a great time they are having. The best part is the friendships that my kids form that last long after the summer is over. If your kids are spoiled and want to be catered to, this is not the camp for you. However, if your kids like to be outdoors, love to sing, dance, and just have good old fashion fun, then this might be the perfect fit. RID: 50050

8/17/16   1     1     1     1     1   My son heard about this camp from a friend at school so I took a leap and sent both him and my daughter this year. My daughter was in the eldest girls unit and my son in the middle boy's. According to both of them the food was minimal and inedible yet they were prohibited from bringing their own. The staff was ignorant to every issue, especially the directors, Liam and Kelsey. Staff not certified as life guards supervised the children while swimming and told them. The men's staff is unnecessarily rough with them, my son had the bruises to show. My daughters unit director was rude to both me and her on drop off, visiting, and pickup day. Before camp my daughter hardly cussed and she came home swearing and dancing provocatively and told me her "CA" taught her. When the children wrote letters home telling me they were unhappy, they somehow "never made it to me". Lastly the chef made inappropriate comments towards my daughter and the camp did nothing about it. RID: 49971

5/12/14   5     5     5     5     5   While the counselors are predominately foreign and have not gone to this camp as a camper, the counselors assistants all went to camp for at least two years and are chosen based on maturity, creativity, and their ability to work with kids. The counselors assistants build a strong relationship with the campers because they are so close in age and they have gone through exactly what they are going through. This is a camp for all backgrounds where everyone is equal and loved. The camp activities are unmatched at any other camp, and there is tremendous positive growth that incarnation camp brings to even the most shy camper. I highly recommend coming this summer! Click to report rating    11/13/13   5     5     5     5     5   Incarnation Camp was fantastic for my young camper, originally we were signed up for a 2 week session, but after my son loved it so much he ended up staying for 6 weeks. The counselors were very nice and friendly which made him feel right at home. There were a lot of different activities for him to choose from, which is great as he is not the sportiest of kids. Whilst at the camp my friend made a bunch of new buddies who he still speaks to during the year. We can't wait for the camper reunions so he can go back up to the property and see all his friends again. We have already signed up for next summer! RID: 46275
8/23/13   1     1     1     1     1   I thought I heard only good things about this camp however we were gravely mistaken. Definately a wolf in disguise. If you want to punish your child this summer than send them to this camp. This camp is a rip off! The camp counselors don't surpervise the children and rough house with them to the point of abuse. The facilities are falling apart with the water slide broken all week. The director of the day camp Jes is completly incompetent and will not even know who your child is.The rest of the staff should not be around kids. If you want someone who just stepped off the boat to supervise your child than this is the camp for you. Cheap lousy labor that was totally useless and incompetent with thick accents that only a translator could decipher. Arts and crafts consisted of box kits and glue and glitter from the Dollar Store. Food served chicken nuggets, tacos awful and inedible. A all round terrible experience. RID: 45828
Click to report rating    7/11/13   1     1     1     1     1   This is an awful camp. Please do not make your child suffer by sending them to this camp. It is juvenile ans encourages inappropriate teenage activities. It is a waste of money. RID: 45119
Click to report rating    3/19/13   5     5     5     5     5   I don't care what anyone says. Incarnation camp is the best of all summer camps .. I've been going for 6 years. I have not had a bad time there. I love it. I found myself. Who I really am. No other camp is as excellent as incarnation camp. RID: 44015

Click to report rating    3/6/12   5     5     5     5     5   This was my first year at camp. It was one of the best experiences of my life! I made great friends and had a lot of fun. My counselors were always there for me and made every day count. I had such a great time and would recommend Incarnation to any kid! RID: 40461
Click to report rating    12/14/11   5     5     5     5     5   I went to Incarnation for the first time last year, and I had the time of my life! I am no doubt going back next year. They had so many different activities, I often found myself trying to decide whether to go the the art room or run by the farm. They staff there made everyday fun; even at night there were activities, from having canoe races to having quick tests of the water slide, rope swing, and water trampolines. I certainly recommend this camp to every child! RID: 37507

Click to report rating    7/6/10   5     5     5     5     5   This is the second year for my son to attend IC. He absolutely loves it and I can understand why. The location is ideal and the staff are caring; they really get to know all of the campers. It is wonderful how they "unplug" these kids and yet they have the best time of their lives. I never had the camp experience as a child but seeing how it is done at IC I know I missed something great. RID: 33255
Click to report rating    1/21/10   5     5     5     5     5   This camp has been apart of my life for the past 20 years. It has shaped my personality and given me a core sense of happiness and a strong work ethnic. RID: 31943
Click to report rating    1/21/10   5     5     5     5     5   I cannot put into words how much this place has sculpted me into who I am. With such a positive environment, the last four summers couldn't have been spent at a better place. One thing that's so great about this place is that they always find a way for you to be able to get there regardless of your financial situation even with its ridiculously low price. Though it's unfortunate to watch things change from how you will always remember them "from the start", IC is always in good hands and always welcoming the newbies and vets alike! grab a sleeping bag and your swim trunks and get ready for an indescribable summer! RID: 31938
Click to report rating    1/20/10   5     5     5     5     5   Went to IC for 5 summers and worked for 3, it's one of the best places in the world. Everything has improved, there's so much more than when I was a camper: roller hockey rink?! ceramics studio?! movie theater?! water slide! Yet, it is the same in so many ways: still sleeping in tents, where you can hear the rain and feel the breeze; still walking small paths through the forest to the bath room or dining hall; still no pollution in the lake...this camp is special, both campers and staff feel incredibly fulfilled after a summer. I am still friends with most of my friends from camp (mind you, I went in the 90s!) and many of them go back as counselors every summer. This is a place where really strong bonds are created, and where your kids will learn and come back more responsible and helpful. It's really the best camp ever! RID: 31932
Click to report rating    1/19/10   5     5     5     5     5   I was a camper for 5 years and a counselor for 5. Happiest memories of my life, and many of my closest friends to this day are from IC. I will definitely be sending my kids here. The greatest thing about IC is the people. Staff members and campers have been coming there for years and really care about the place. I have never found a more diverse and inclusive community anywhere. People of all races and backgrounds living together in harmony. I had friends whose parents were wealthy executives, and friends who grew up the projects. Not just Christians-- other campers were Jews, Muslims, agnostic-- IC embodies the true spirit of Christ's teaching which is love. Second is the setting. 700 acres of beautiful forests and fields, and a pristine mile long private lake-- no vacationers, no jet skies. It's where I came to love nature. IC is subsidized by the Episcopal church so you will not find a better value. "Preach the gospel daily. If necessary, use words." It's that kind of a RID: 31925

1/19/10   5     5     4     5     5   I was extremely impressed by the facilities, property, and all the staff of Incarnation. They had been going to another camp that was much more expensive and I feel did not create the great connection that my kids have experienced at Incarnation. The other camp had Jet Skis, Incarnation has sailing, kayaking, canoeing, rowing and the most amazing staff I've encountered. Incarnation has been and will be an amazing place for my kids in the summer. RID: 31924
Click to report rating    1/19/10   5     4     5     5     5   This camp has for many years not only been a place to spend a summer and have a great time, but a place where children can develop into responsible independent individuals, and productive community members. The staff is great, the activities are fun, and the facilities - while generally basic are effective, and provide a humbling change for most youths, and serve to prove that it's not what you have that matters, but what you choose to do with it. I have seen countless friends, family members, and even former enemies come through this very special place and program thankful for the experience. RID: 31923
Click to report rating    1/19/10   5     5     5     5     5   The oldest co-ed sleep away camp in America these folks really knwo what they're doing. Mos tof the staff is former campers and the whole thing in non-profit so the organization and it's members are there out of love not profit, this translates to superior service for the campers and a more complete experience. Finally, the facilities are not state of the art and that is a good thing. It is a traditional outdoors camp. for example, kids learn how to canoe and sail not ride a jet ski. And besides, they have a mile long private lake and nearly 700 acres of forest used exclusively by the camp- those are the best facilities possible. RID: 31922
Click to report rating    1/18/10   5     4     5     4     5   my kid had a fantastic summer 2009, all the camp staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. the activities were well organized and varied. looking forward to summer 2010! RID: 31913
Click to report rating    12/10/09   3     2     3     3     2   The new director they hired was hardy ever around leaving the responsibilities to the PD who was awful. The kids had an ok time but a lot of the behind the scenes stuff seemed a bit odd when dealing with the admin. The director, Karen Fairbairn, they hired from a camp that just went under and what she brought with her from that job is very apparent. I loved the religious aspect this camp had and still has as limited as it may be, but now there trying to change too much, the vast majority of their funding if Im not mistake still comes from the Episcopal church. Most the alumni like myself who have kids here are not pleased with how the summer went. I cannot knock the camp completely because I have been apart of it for awhile but will look into other camps until they change the administration back to what it was such as Derek Edwards or find a better one. Its now one of the cheapest camps on the east coast with scholarships and funding from the church and it shows how cheap it really is RID: 31707
Click to report rating    6/13/08   5     4     4     4     5   this camp is fun, the beach was great, the water was warm, which made it easy to like. the staff was amazing excepted one who laughed at my best friend. The activities were great, but there weren't a lot of then.they were so nice if you could not full asleep they would help. it was not expensive and it was still a great camp. RID: 23818
Click to report rating    3/7/08   5     5     5     5     5   I have had the privilege of working at incarnation for the past 2 summers and hopefully will be working there again this coming summer of 08. As an international staff member you are welcomed, appreciated and contribute to what I believe the kids find a phenomenal experience. People and beautiful surroundings make incarnation a place like no other. The activities appear endless, the experience and ranging skills of the staff is incredibly diverse. It is this diversity and choice coupled with a fantastic group/team/family culture that separates Incarnation from any other outdoor recreation facility that I have visited. This is reflected by the amount of staff who were previous campers and the high staff to camper ratio. I strongly believe that incarnation camp is a place where people of all ages, especially kids, find themselves. They develop new found confidence, try new activities, meet great friends and leave with a smile on their face as well as a wanting for more fun. RID: 21009
Click to report rating    11/18/07   5     4     4     4     5   I love Incarnation Camp! I met so many great friends. Personally I thought there was too much time where you're not doing anything but besides that I think it's one of the best camps ever! I love sports and this is a great place to do them. The wet Willy(Gigantic water slide) was so much fun. The friends that you make, you have a lot of time to spend with. I had a great time. RID: 17208
