Our daughter just finished her first summer at LBMC, and it truly exceeded every expectation. She came home with so much confidence and is already counting down the days until next year. As a Texas family sending our daughter to sleepaway camp in PA, we were so warmly welcomed by Dan, Jane, and the entire LBMC staff.
From the start, we felt at ease — not only because of the staff and other camp families, but also because of how seriously the camp takes safety, structure, and thoughtful policies. After researching over a dozen camps, LBMC stood out as our top choice based on its programming, values, and all-girls environment. The uniform and sense of community were exactly what we were looking for.
Visiting Day was so impactful. The energy and warmth from the counselors were incredible, and it was obvious how deeply Dan and Jane care for each camper. We’re so grateful for the experience and excited for many more summers

The girls here are so toxic!!! The staff ignores the kids even if they are sobbing. The girls here are brats and snobs. Despite claiming diversity it is 95% Jewish and requires everybody to wear white and go to Chabot. and After you apply there are so many hidden fees. Please do not send your kids to this toxic environment. It is a total waste of your money!!!

Bryn Mawr is the absolute best place on earth!! My daughters have been going there for five summers now and I'm so grateful that they can go to such a wonderful camp.

Having children at both starlight and LBMC I am clear that both camps are amazing helping to provide incredible camp experiences. The facilities are beautiful and jane and Dan are invested in maintaining them as such. Jane and Dan have consistently been warm, kind, and easy to communicate with; always answering questions or helping where needed. I believe that LBMC is a very well run camp and is an amazing opportunity to attend.

I LOVE Bryn Mawr. I have made some of my best friends at this camp and would never want to go to any other camp. This past summer I had the best experience of my whole entire life and can't wait to go back this coming up summer. The camp itself is so pretty and amazing. Some of the staff aren't the best and have no patience. If you want your daughter to have the summer of her life I would 100% suggest Bryn Mawr.

I am a former counselor who was fired because of my sexuality and comments about me that were made to management by a fellow counselor. I was not asked about these accusations, I was simply told I was fired, and found out the reasons later. I was then held in the office and told I was not allowed to leave until the next morning when I was being driven to the airport. The camp is wonderful for campers, but I would not recommend it as a safe and accepting work environment

I will be in bunk one this summer, and there are no words to describe this place. If you read the bad reviews, which I'm sure you will, just remember that there are negative people everywhere you go but most people can see it for what it is. Bryn Mawr is special. From the campers, to the facilities, to the food, the counselors, and the traditions. It is by far the best camp around. Or better yet, the best place around. Dan and Jane are truly my second parents and Bryn Mawr really is my home away from home. Yes, some campers are jappy, but that does not mean that you have to let that effect you. All of my campfriends are so incredibly jappy, but that does not make any difference to me. I have seven sisters who I see for seven weeks a year and I would never trade that in for anything. Please listen to this comment and not any of the other ones. Going to Bryn Mawr is something that I truly know that I will never regret. Whenever I am not in camp, I have a countdown to when I will go back.

this camp is sickk! all the best features i have been going for 8 years and i am coming back to be a LIT! im so excided. i will never leave camp. Lake Bryn Mawr, is my summer home/my home away from home. BEST CAMP! even though its on the expencive side, who cares. ITS WORTH IT. I have toured many camps when choosing a camp for my younger sister, just to see whats out there, and we looked at timber lake, tyler hill, wan-nee,trales end, whanee for girls, pontiac and more but lake bryn marw was by far the best. it is a very jappy camp but it is way more fun and much more elegant and beautiful compared to any other camp. BEST CAMP EVER!

I was a counselor this last summer, and I wasn't rehired, I want to go back though. The camp itself is very nice, the food is amazing, we sometimes had the same thing for breakfast. I loved my girls for the most part, they had their moments though, but who doesn't. As a counselor I felt that I had no privacy, like someone was always watching every move I made. If I did something wrong two seconds later someone would come up and ask me about it. Dan and Jane are wonderful people, its just that they care more about business and the kids, and leave out the importance of their staff. Out of all the girls that go to Bryn Mawr, I don't think they are jappy, but they can act a little full of themselves. Your child can do pretty much any activity, except in junior camp they're schedules are mapped out for them, otherwise the activities are very nice. For 10K a summer, maybe if you want to get your child into special programs. I love and remember Bryn Mawr and my BUNK 17 girls.

Bryn Mawr is THE BEST PLACE on EARTH!!!! everyone who is talking badly about it is just jealous. this past summer was THE BEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE!!! i couldnt ask for anything different. the people ive made friends with at camp will be my friends for the rest of my life. and what people are saying about being jappy thats NOT true, but also if your sending your daughter to a camp thats 10000 a summer..... and about mean girls okay your friends at camp our your sisters so your gonna get in fights. the food is also SOO good for camp food. also bryn mawr is a big sports camp, but there is a LOT to do if you dont like sports. everything about this camp is amazing...the people, activities, evening activities, color war - we have the BEST breaks, the directors and we have the most beautiful camp EVER you physically cannot find a prettier camp then bryn mawr!

I was a program director for two summers and would have gone back had I not graduated from college. The girls are great. The activities are great. The facilities are great, and the staff, from the directors, Dan and Jane down, are great. If one or more of my children were to be girls, I will send them to Bryn Mawr without hesitation. My advice to anyone considering Bryn Mawr and see some of the negative posts below, would be to do your own research. Dan and Jane welcome perspective parents and children and would be happy to discuss the policies, programs, and facilities.

I was a Program Director at this camp for one summer. I would not send my daughter to this place because I would prefer here to have a more outdoorsy and adventurous experience. The girls are assigned to sleep in an above ground tent for only two nights out of the eight week program... and most girls opt out of the experience. When people here say the girls are jappy: it is true. However, if you are afraid of girl rivalry and cattiness, do not go to an ALL girls camp. In my experience, the levels of cattiness go down at a Co-Ed camp. Another issue is that there are so many kids at the camp that one-on-one attention is not the norm - in one instance the girls were lined up as they left the giant fire area and handed PRE-MADE/HEATED s'mores: it made me sick to think they were cheated of a genuine experience. Oh and DO NOT WORK HERE Dan and Jane are nice to the campers because they PAY to be there. As bosses, they rude, negative, and actively two-faced.

Although I had a great summer, looking back it may not have been as great as I thought. Dan and Jane are good people who really care about each girl there - they just don't care about the staff. They pick favorites and those will be well taken care of. Everyone else has to fend for themselves. The campus is beautiful and they have top of the line facilities. I would definitely consider sending my daughter here. I was very disappointed when they didn't hire me back for a second summer and was told it was because I was "too nice" and not enough of a tough counselor. I didn't think my girls walked all over me but even if they did...does it matter? It's summer! I'd say parents would rather their daughters be happy and safe than unhappy because their mean counselors made them go to bed an hour before lights out on the last night of camp (which my co-counselors did) They badmouthed me to the administrators, cheap move. I'll really miss my kids but I definitely learned a lot from the work.

I was a counselor at LBMC and can say that this camp is a very special place. The staff is amazing and really cares about your children. The food is amazing, which is great for camp! The uniform is great. I have seen camps with no uniform and they look trashy. The owners are wonderful people who really do care about your child having the best summer of her life. The activities and facilities are top notch! The girls at camp were wonderful and if there was any sort of problem it was handeled immediately. I was nervous about working at a camp and had no idea what to expect but I had the experience of a lifetime. I can't wait to go back! I would definately recommend sending your child to this camp. I traveled to other camps for atheletics and I can tell you nothing compares to Bryn Mawr. The staff at the other camps even said so! I wish I would have had the opportunity to attend as a child!

i went to lbmc for 5 years (i would have been a 6 yr camper).. i mean its not a bad camp its just some of the girls could be really mean. its better to go to this camp when you are younger then older in my opinion. dan is really nice and if you ever have any problems he will do his best to fix them and really cares for everyone and wants them to have a great summer but if your unhappy he will understand and help you through the decisions you make. its a beautiful camp with great staff and activities. the only reason i am not going back is because i sorta grew out of camp. if that makes any sense but there is a definite chance i will miss lbmc =[

I LOVE THIS CAMP SO MUCH! I went there so unsure of myself, not knowing almost anyone. All the girls and staff are s welscoming. Its my second home! I have made so many friends, and i have become a bryn mawr angel! All the older girls really help you when your homesick or upset! an and jane are my second parents. I definitly recomend sending your child here, they will learn skills to prepare them in life, and they will come home as a happy, loving, caring, polite, amazing kid! In my mind there arent enough words to describe bryn mawr, and what it means to me. Im so upset that people dont like it, if you dont then maybe you werent in the right bunk. The girls who go here are nice and loving people. Im upset that the rating chart only goes up to good, its AMAZING! People who say its a jappy camp, ur the jappy ones, who cant appretiate the outstanding camp, and oppertunity, that ur parents give to you! After a few days ur at home. with the help of ur bunk and councilers! lbmc is #1!!!

This camp is great and words cannot possibly describe it. I am going back for my 5th summer now, and I couldn't be any more excited. The staff here are great and supportive and encouraging. The facilities are amazing. The activities are fun and organized. If you are uncomfortable, the directors will make time to talk and work out the problem. LOYALTY, BEAUTY, MERIT, COMRADESHIP. The four basic values we angels LIVE by. Everyone here is welcoming and kind. You may start camp with a friend or too, and then leaving with a sister - or 300. This experience is an opportunity that any young or old girl would NOT want to miss. Bryn Mawr is my second home and without it...I would've never have made all my camp friends-scratch that-sisters. The food is OUTSTANDING. Not at all disgusting. The staff is nice and pushes you to do your best, reach your goals. I rated this camp so high because of all of the above. This camp is more like a summer haven than a summer camp. It's GREAT!

Lake Bryn Mawr Camp is one of the best camps our there. I've only been to one other camp, and let me tell you the experiences were extremely different. I have been though the system as a camper an LIT and plan to go back as a staff member. The staff at this camp care about the kids so much and want them to have the best summer. The owners do what it takes to keep the camp happy and healthy. If you have a problem, they are there to help you at any time, and if they can't help you at the exact moment, they will go out of their way to make sure the person knows they care and go the extra mile to make them feel better later. I would refer anyone to this camp ( as long as they are female). Don't trash this camp, it may not have been the right one for you and I'm sorry...but this camp has so much to offer. I love Lake Bryn Mawr Camp.

bryn mawr is not only a summer camp it is a home, where friends become sisters. It has changed my life forever and I think I would be lost without it. I talk to my camp friends every night and without them life would suck. This is my 8th year at bryn mawr and it is great. I might have hated it sometimes but when your having a good time its not a good time its the best time. I can't think of more times Ive laughed ever in my life. I found my other half at bryn mawr and for any girl who feels like they truly can't be themselve should go here and find there flower =]

ive been going here for eight years now. im disgusted by what some people are trying to make bryn mawr come off as. lets face it. if you go to a sleep away camp, youll find japs. thats the way it is. but the camp itself is not "jappy". yes the majority of kids are on the wealthy side but that doesnt take away from the actual camp. ive met some of the greatest people in my entire life here. dan and jane have become my second parents. the idea of having a uniform makes everyone equal and the food is incredible. i mean, i only eat caesar salad there, haha. all in all, its truely an incredbile camp and to see eight year old kids bash on it disturbs me. this place is my second home and i wouldn't prefer to go anywhere else. i highly suggest it. please disregard how much these little girls are bashing on it. girls fight, end of story. and apparently these girls just realized that. but i learned from all of this and i'm a better person from it. lake bryn mawr is the camp to go to

THIS YEAR I AM GOING TO BE IN BUNK ONE AND I CANT BELIEVE THE WAY ITS BEING PORTRAYED. MOST KIDS DO COME FROM MONEY BU THATS NOT THEIR FAULTS. I love this camp. ive been going for 3 years already and ive made AMAZING friends. i can totally see why people hate swimming. but i really love this camp because it has awesome food. also when i go to other camps for competitions i see that other camps arent as nice. overall, i love color war and the friends that i have made.

I've been going to Lake Bryn Mawr the past 7 years of my life. If it wasn't a good camp, I would've left years ago. Honestly, this is the greatest place I've ever been and the friends I made here are friends I'll keep with me throughout my life. I'm not going to stand here and say that Bryn Mawr isn't jappy. But that's not what it's all about. I look forward to my days at Bryn Mawr more than anything else. Not only is it a beautiful facility, which by the way is by far more beautiful then other camps I have visited, the lessons you learn and the morals Dane and Jane set for the kids are ultimately extrememly beneficial. For example, if girls get in a fight or disagreement, you're encouraged to go to the "Girls Circle". Although a bit cheesy, it really does help and gives everyone the oppurtunity to discuss their problems in a calm, mature, manner. There is no "it" girl and considering it's an all girls camp, you don't need to worry about what you look like, ever, which everyone enjoys

There are soome jappy people at this camp, but lets face it, most sleepaway camps have them. I have made the best friends of my life and i would live through a million japs for them. The camp is beautiful, like the nicest camp i've ever seen! The food is also really good. When i go to other camps for games and stuff i totally see the difference in facilities. my friends that go to other camps all wish they had bryn mawrs facilities. once again IT IS NOT TOTALLY JAPPY! SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT GET ALONG WITH EACHOTHER!!! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JAPPY-NESS! The swim program is horrible they are ****s and make u swim if u dont feel good and fail u bc they dis-like you and make u go to level 2 when u should be on god dam level 3 !!! other than that all the other activeits are very nice and the camp is beautfiul and has amazing food dont trust nacy shes a lieing back stabing **** and so are the owners!

Bryn Mawr is the best camp out there. I went there for 6 summers and I regret not starting earlier. The other camps that I looked at didn't even compare to Bryn Mawr. I am not a sports person and I looooved Bryn Mawr anyway. The friends I made at Bryn Mawr are friends for life, and I learned many important values.

I went to Lake Bryn Mawr for 8 summers and they were the best summers of my life. The facilities at this camp are out of control. The gymnastics is insane and they have won for 25 years straight. Let me just say that I made the best friends of my entire life at bryn mawr and they are not jappy or abnoxious. The staff are so nice and if your having problems with them dan and jane will always do there best to make it better. Dan and Jane are like my second parents, Bryn Mawr is my second home, and my friends are my sisters. After BOS 06 i went on a new program and although i like it, it will never compare to my amazing summers at bryn mawr. For those of you who think bryn mawr is jappy, there are definatly girls who follow the angel code and have loyalty, beauty, merit, and comradship. I will admit that there are spoiled girls there, but in the atmosphere of bryn mawr, it is impossible to be jappy and bratty. I LOVE BRYN MAWR SOOO MUCH AND IT IS THE BEST CAMP IN THE WORLD!!!!

Definitely not for everyone (myself included). It is absolutely a "jappy" camp - if that's not your thing look elsewhere, there are camps with nice, down to earth people!Some of the staff was nice, but in general they were pretty mean and miserable. My cabin alone lost both counselors before the summer was over (they ran away in the middle of the night, no joke) and the explanation they gave to the parents was that this happens every summer and they prepare for it. Not only does that not speak well for the camp that they expect counselors to run away, but they also do NOT prepare for it. We had kitchen staff for counselors for the rest of the summer. Major emphasis on sports, none on really anything else, so again, if that's not your thing, look elsewhere. However, I must admit it's a beautiful place.

Awsome camp. This is my daughters 3rd summer, and I could not be happier. My daughter lives sports, and this was one of the main reasons we chose this camp. The other reason was that this is a uniform camp - one of the great equalizers. I don't understand the past discussions about clothing,considering that the girls wear a uniform day inand day out! As far as the "Jappiness" of the campis concerned - yes, most of the girls are jewish and most do come from well off families - but who else is sending their girls to sleepaway camp for 7 weeks! Dan and Jane are wonderful. The camp is very nurturing. I cannot say anything bad about LBMC>

I sent my first child here and all she did was come back with amazing stories and friends. I am so happy i picked this camp it was the perfect choice for the whole family. My youngest daughter will be attending her first summer their this year and will be a lower junior, all she does each night after homework is analize the bryn mawr site and goes around the house screaming with joy. I am very happya t this camp and wish I went as a child.

AMAZING there are no other words to describe the seven summers that i spent at this camp. I highly reccommend it. I learned all my life values there as well and my best friends. if you want an unforgettable experience, this is the camp for you.

I went to LBMC for 5 summers and they were all amazing! The girls do come from a priviledged background, but all were sweet, caring people. This camp is exquisetly run and managed. I highly reccomend sending your daughters here.

I've gone to this camp for the past 4 years....AMAZING! As responses to some other ratings: it is not jappy at all...the cheers are NOT mean...the horses do not smell that bad, and, besides, there are like 20 of them...and you should all consider going there!

I went to this camp for a summer when i was 7 it was terrible i hated it.. i made some good friends but it turned out they were mean to other campers and very big jap's i went to cbr after it was amazing and i love it soo much .. the facilities at bryn mawr may be a little more groomed but overall blue ridge is a fabulous camp including the facilities and everything and guess what the counselors dont tan at blue ridge they watch you unlike at bryn mawr.. i go to lbmc(bryn mawr) often to play intercamp the kids are so rude and they say mean cheers (mirror mirror on the wall pretty girls dont play ball so lets get ugly) and the horses like next to front campus, SMELL. im a rider but honestly even i cant be that close to it all the time

Bryn Mawr is a special camp. The facilities, staff and program are top notch. Dan and Jane (the Directors) are very involved in every aspect of the camp and treat each camper like their own daughter (they have three!). This camp is great!

this camp is all right.. my daughter does not feel comfortable in this environment considering the all girl status. however the camp activites are wonderful and we will continue to send her as long as possible. in my opinion, the horses smell a tad.

This is our 4th summer and it is overall an excellent camp. Directors are totally hands on. The facilities and overall camp experience are all there but are not meant to be over the top. This is a modest but high end camp with strong leadership and great programming. Food is good.
