My grandson attened the UCLA summer camp as a day camper. Several scheduled evening activities were cancelled or changed. Classes were not taught by university professors but counselors who were all new to the program. Instruction was not individualized.When student completed a problem they had to wait until the last student was done before moving on. Can't tell you much more about the curriculum because parents are given no information on the curriculum nor on any progress made by the student. Materials are not supplied.We stopped by Staples to purchase graph paper,sent money to print and an IPad to do the research.As further example of the lack of organization, scheduled activities ended early and the daycampers were left unattended with nothing to but sit in the lobby of the dorm, once as long as 2 hours and 40 minutes. Instead of assigning one counselor to supervise and provide something for these kids to do, all counselors disappeared and the kids suffered for the poor planning.

My son went to their U.C. Berkeley camp last year. Great site for a kid who wants to learn. Math was never hard for him but the improvement is incredible. He is in AP Calc and breezing thru thanks to what he learned last summer. And he loved being on a real university campus. This year he has his sights set on the UCLA camp. As an athlete he never thought he could do this well in mate. His batting average went up this year and his GPA...and it's all about coaching. Last years coaches knew when to praise and when to push, when he was tired and when he was boing lazy. For us Areteem was a home run! I would highly recommend it to anyone.
