Click to report rating    8/21/18   3     4     2     2     2   The Teen Adventure program needs an overhaul. Too much time on buses and not enough time having fun. You need to have a plan B when something falls through. Kids don't need Dairy Queen every day. Healthier meal options needed. RID: 52205
Click to report rating    8/17/18   1     1     1     1     1   The teen adventure program is really bad and all they do is sit on benches for more then half of the time RID: 52191
Click to report rating    8/23/17   1     1     1     1     1   Horrible camp: My daughter came home badly sun burnt many times, bus counselors would sleep on the bus, would tell the kids to be quiet and that they were not allowed to talk. Same counselor also proceeded to give my daughter a lecture on guns and the family members that he has that are in jail, equipment was NOT installed properly at the camp and there have been injuries (some rather serious), the "so called" nurses are not qualified at all. Counselors are not qualified to deal with young children at all. We have spoken to many other parents that also are very, very displeased and feel like they too were greatly deceived. The owners, Hunter and Farrah do not care about anything other than taking your money. Each time we addressed the problems with the owners, it always fell on deaf ears. The owners would also battle us and tell us that some of our concerns could not be valid. They later apologized after they reviewed the cameras which confirmed some of the craziness. RID: 51276
Click to report rating    11/14/14   5     4     5     5     4   I have gone to HHDC for 10 years as a camper and hope to work their this year. The experience was amazing and it's all a kid could ask for during summer a fun time with nice people in a calm environment. I loved my experience so much and though it has changed over the years from the way it was when I started there it still has that amazing flare to it that just puts a smile on not only the campers face but the staff and parents too. Click to report rating    6/25/12   5     5     5     5     5   My kids have been attending this camp each summer. This will be their 7th year. Amazing facilities, activities, cleanliness, and caring. Very responsive. I've read the other reviews, some of which seem unlikely given that any issue, has always been addressed swiftly, including things such as scuffles between kids (happens everywhere). Another comment appears to be a mistake as it is not even about this camp. Poster must have been confused. There is no owner who is a Melissa and it is kids only day/travel camp. Fabulous camp, truly. My kids love it and look forward to going back every year. Very flexible to work with also regarding how many weeks to attend, unlike many other day camps. Very safe facility with happy staff & kids. RID: 41420
Click to report rating    12/7/11   5     5     5     5     5   I love sending my children to Harbor Hills. The staff is amazing. My daughter was in first grade this year and the counselors were absolutely wonderful. She loved going to camp every day to see them and her friends! By far the most outstanding camp in New Jersey. RID: 37458

Click to report rating    9/25/11   1     4     3     1     3   My child had a terrible experience. She was punched by a boy and nothing was done. In fact they blamed her, the victim and swept the whole thing under the rug. One of her counselors was very mean and spiteful and should not work with kids. She encouraged bullying and made fun of my child. I filed a complaint with the accrediting agency. Very very bad experience for us. The owner never acknowledged his or staff mistakes RID: 36977
8/2/11   1     4     1     1     1   The previous owner did a good job running this place. The new owner, Melissa, is the worst camp owner I've ever met. Pros: Clean bathroom (not free but I don't care). Cons: Not much for kids to do. Going camping is to have a relative free time and space. In this camp if you happen to generate noise like kids laughing after 10:00PM, talking to each other (mind you at night, normal talking perceived as loud due to the ambiance noise level), you will be VERY RUDELY reminded! I can't understand this behavior, body gesture from the woman at all. She is the worst customer service ever. If it was not for the kids, I would have pack up and leave that night. Rest assured, all my colleagues at work know how unfriendly this camp is. Normally I don't review things/camps, but this time, it is so bad that I had to write something. Read else where on the net and you may find interesting review about this camp site. RID: 36590

Click to report rating    2/11/11   5     5     5     5     5   BEST CAMP EVER, IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A CAMP COME TO THIS ONE RID: 35081
Click to report rating    1/14/11   3     2     1     4     1   I thought this would be a good fit for my daughter but it seems that all the children at this camp are special needs. There is also a "no punishment" policy at this camp so when a young boy attacked my daughter in the swimming pool, held her under water and kicked her, they did nothing, in fact they said that the boy did nothing because there were "nail marks" on his back from my daughter trying to fight him off so she could breathe. This camp is too expensive and frankly don't offer the kids much variety in activities. RID: 34829
Click to report rating    7/19/10   5     5     5     5     5   The money my family has spent for HHDC is by far the best spent money and the best value. This camp provides everything, treats the children great and the parents great as well. You can see that your money goes into everyday and back into the camp facilities. Nothing is run down. New things are always introduced. My sone has gone for 6 years and is now in teen adventure. He thanks me all the time for this experience and knows how lucky he is. It is expensive, but you really see your money at work. Not for everyone's budget. You may have to sacrafice a new kitchen for the long hall, but it is well worth seeing your child thrive and grow, knowing they are safe and well cared for. I can't say enough good things. RID: 33390

Click to report rating    11/6/08   5     5     5     5     5   Facilities are immaculate. Best value for your money of any camp in the area. These guys are great with kids of all ages. My kids will continue to go to HHDC and we've convinced some of our friends to switch to this amazing place! Once you've experience the Harbor Hills difference you know why I give them a top rating! Click to report rating    6/29/07   5     5     5     5     5   We have been a HHDC family for MANY summers. It is a fantastic camp! Kids LOVE IT. Herb INVESTS in the camp, which you can see, by the new golf facilities, crazy crawl, etc. Other camps, such as Jeff Lake, look rundown and well ... just plain sad. In contrast, HHDC is upbeat and spiffy and has a great amtosphere of caring about kids. It is PERFECT for my kids! RID: 12589

Click to report rating    7/29/06   5     5     5     5     5   My kids have gone here for most of their lives, it is a safe yet fun enviornment. Every member of the staff is a role model and all of the kids get the special attention they need. My son and daughter have made life long friends and learned to play sports, climb rock walls, and swim. Although it is a little expensive, it is worth every penny. RID: 1658
