My concerns lie with the administration. My daughters mother planned for her to fly from Grand Rapids back to Chicago and when I called to confirm they were glad to supply verbal confirmation that yes, those were the arrangements made by her mother however they would not send written confirm that they were taking her to the airport or to what flight. They stated they could not share that info with me due to my daughters mother telling them not to. I was just asking for simple confirmation that they were in fact going to be responsible for my daughter getting to the airport and putting her on the appropriate flight. My concern is... where does that withholding of information end? What if there is an emergency? What other info won't they share? I created a parent account, I am the one who registered my daughter for camp and my trust in the camp is now questioned, I am not comfortable sending my child many miles away and not knowing if or when I would ever be contacted in any emergency

I love Camp Newaygo! The summer of 2015 was my first summer at any kind of overnight camp. I get homesick really easily, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy camp as much as I wanted too because of frequent homesickness. :( Nevertheless, I had so much fun! This camp is pretty rustic. I slept in Tinuwen (the unit for incoming 8th graders). They're basically cabins without walls or electricity. The living conditions are less rustic for younger kids, but as you get older, the living spaces become more and more wilderness and nature oriented and rustic. But it was still a pretty cool place to live in. Anyway, the activities are fun and the staff is super nice. My counselors were great! The facilities are clean and well kept. No one is ever left out and everyone is given personal attention. This camp is a bit pricey but it does have value and it's worth it. The friends I made here are like my sisters, and Camp Newaygo will always hold a special place in my heart! <3
