I had the time of my life at SOCAPA. The campers and staff here are the most welcoming, friendly and cool people I have ever met. This camp really brings together artists from all over the world. My entire floor was foreign, seriously. I still stay in touch with my roommate from Israel, my co-star from Turkey, and other friends from everywhere. The dorm building is in pretty nice shape. Laundry is available all of the time, the bathrooms are huge and the showers have good pressure and warm water. There is enough storage for your wardrobe and more. The staff is open, but protective and has very safe, effective ways of keeping track of the kids in the city (without messing with their privacy). Night Life and Day Trips here are incredible, and life on the subway is safe. NYU's food is definitely iffy, but there's a ton of other places all over campus. The facilities are fine, I suppose. A bit cramped, to say the least. I loved it here, and you will too.
