GREAT SETTING. TERRIBLY RUN.
Parents were given a list of things to bring to camp. When my child and I showed up on the third day of camp without a bun, which is an item that is NOT mentioned in any e-mail or on the website as obligatory, I was taken aback by a sign stating "No life jacket, no bun, no paddling". When I inquired by email about what a bun was (cushion to protect knees when paddling) and if whether or not it had been asked of the parents, the person wrote that no, it is not mentioned or required of the parents. She said they supply the buns for the youngest group and that she would talk to the staff. One week later, my son tells me that the paddling was uncomfortable on that day because his counselor gave him shoes to put his knees on when paddling. I asked the counselor the reason for using the shoes instead of the bun or the block. She said that the bun was necessary for all paddlers. So much for talking to staff!
