Click to report rating    8/15/18   5     5     5     5     5   As summer ends I wanted to share my AMAZING experience with Meadowbrook Day Camp. I am 'that mom' who's child is high maintenance. Our daughter has severe IBD (Crohn's) and EOE and camp had not been an option for us. This year the wonderful staff at Meadowbrook bent over backwards to provide my daughter an awesome summer. Mason,Rich, Marty and the wonderful staff managed my daughter's extensive diet restrictions, her activity level, constantly checked in with me, and gave her a childhood experience we did not think possible. Yes my other healthy child LOVED Meadowbrook as well. Both are very eager to sign up for next year. There are only a couple days to check it out, but I can tell you with 100% certainty the children's happiness always comes first here. RID: 52185

12/1/16   5     5     5     5     5   As a parent who has send her two children to Meadowbrook for several years Im shocked to see the below review. Meadowbrook is an outstanding camp that holds itself to the highest safety standards. I have always felt comfortable sending my children there. I know that the police/fire department and power company were at Meadowbrook within minutes of the transformer malfunctioning and children were NEVER in harms way. I have several friends who work & send their children to Meadowbrook who all verified this. The camp communicates with all of their families in impeccable fashion. My children are ecstatic to be returning to MCDC this coming summer. It is our 2nd home and will continue to be. George and Dan have vast experience working with children and have been great advocates for the continuation of great programming and great care for our children. Both my kids adore them! RID: 50275
Click to report rating    11/14/16   1     1     3     1     1   horrible experience. My child went to this camp and I would warn parents that a. It is not safe- they do not supervise the children well because they hire couselors with no experience and b. the following happened- we witnessed children that were not watched in the pool. They do not maintain the grounds and trees have fallen very close to children. It was brought to the attention of the new management who didn't seem to care. A transformer blew during the camp day and the counsellors allowed children near the electrical source. George Stein has a hot temper and is a nasty guy. We also have many friends that will not send their children back due to other safety issues and the new owners do not seem to care about any concern addressed. During the short that the 2 new owners have taken over, this once well respected camp has turned into a place where you do not want to send your children.,it is an major accident waiting to happen. Took a tour with George Millman and Dan stein (the new owners) WAS NOT IMPRESSED!! They were very impersonal though out the tour. They did not seem to embody the values of Meadowbrook that I had heard about in past summers from friends. I would not suggest sending your children to this camp at this time. My family will be seeking out a camp that is more family oriented. RID: 49945

11/17/15   5     5     5     5     5   Meadowbrook Day Camp truly partner’s with your family to give your children the best possible experience. My children have flourished in a safe, yet fun-filled environment with opportunities to learn, traditions to share, and friendships to cherish. The Meadowbrook staff is supportive and caring. As a parent, having a happy, well-cared for camper who comes home at the end of the day with stories, songs and a smile is a joy. Meadowbrook Rocks! RID: 49303

8/4/15   5     5     5     5     5   My daughters have been attending Meadowbrook for several years. THEY LOVE THIS CAMP; THEY ALWAYS CRY THE LAST DAY WHEN CAMP IS OVER FOR THE YEAR. And they can't wait to get and watch the DVD that the camp supplies each year with photos from the summer. Ever improving facilities, caring staff, great activities! RID: 48999

7/31/15   5     5     5     5     5   Fantastic camp! My daughter has been going for 5 years and my 3 year old has just started going this year. Counselors are great with the kids, specialists are great at making the activities fun for groups. My daughter has gone from a reluctant swimmer to loving the water and being a strong swimmer. My younger daughter is too a reluctant swimmer but her swim instructor is working hard to help her and shares information with us on how she is doing. The owners really get to know and love the kids and that creates a staff that does the same. Meadowbrook is where my kids love to be and are so happy there. RID: 48979

7/3/14   5     5     5     5     5   As a former camper and currently counselor, this camp is truly the best place on earth!! I LIVE FOR MEADOWBROOK. All of the counselors participate in all the activities while showing the TIGER values( an acronym that meadowbrook came up with: Teamwork, Integrity, Generosity, Enthusiasm, Respect). There's so much to do and all the activities are run by trained specialists. All of the campers are treated equally and the counselors spend the same amount of time with each camper. As far as the price, including all of the food and amenities provided, it is a reasonable price, and many other camps in the area have a higher fee for less fun. New and improved buildings such as bathrooms, changing rooms, and an indoor sports center are being built for the wellbeing of the campers and staff. Overall, Meadowbrook is a wonderful and safe place to send your kids, that offers many life lessons, life long friends, and the best memories a child can have! It is a tremendous place to grow up!!!!  8/23/13   5     5     5     5     5   Meadowbrook is the best camp around! Whoever wrote all these negative reviews clearly is a fraud! The owners are amazing and know every kids name in camp. The staff is so sweet and really responsive and always check in with the parents! The camp has a TON of spirit and all of my kids are beyond happy there! The counselor to camper ratio is amazing and they offer something for everyone! Whether your child is sporty or artsy! I can't say enough great things about Meadowbrook. I love the diversity and all of my kids can't wait to go back every summer. I had a very young camper there as well as an older camper and they really cater to all age groups. I would highly recommend this camp to everyone! RID: 45825

Click to report rating    7/12/13   1     3     2     1     1   Insufficient focus on safety and well being of individual children. Priority seemed to be on quantity (more kids) rather than quality(safe and happy kids). RID: 45124
Click to report rating    7/6/13   1     2     1     1     1   My kids hated this camp. The kid to counselor ratio was ridiculous. The owners seem to only be in this business for the money. And like other reviewers I found the director of the camp to be extremely cold. RID: 45027
Click to report rating    7/1/13   1     3     1     1     1   My kids hated Meadowbrook. They are way happier with the new camp. The director was jerk my kids were scared of him. The director was also very rude to me. If the owners were smart they would teach that man how to have good customer service and how to work with kids. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this camp to any parent. RID: 44953
Click to report rating    4/18/13   1     1     2     1     1   I found the director and owners to be extremely rude. This camp is more about quantity rather than quality. There are way better camps in the area so do your research and don't send your kids to this overpriced dump. RID: 44303
Click to report rating    6/25/12   5     4     4     4     5   Meadowbrook is a great place to be. There is and amazing amount of spirit-related activities and emphasis on being a good person. They use T.I.G.E.R as a decision making model. T= Teamwork I= Intergity G= Generosity E= Enthusiasm R= Respect. Many Many Many very fun activities and great food. I am in travel and I have been going there for 7 years and each is amazing in it's own respect. Very nice, enthusiastic staff always being helpful and Owners that focus on camper well-being and overall fun! Meadowbrook Rocks! RID: 41434
12/24/11   1     3     3     1     1   Director is horrible. Nasty, arrogant, inattentive. Would not send my kids here again. Owners are very nice but fail to control the director who has face to face contact with parents/children. The director fails to protect Meadowbrook's once good name. RID: 37559
Click to report rating    8/1/11   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is absolutely amazing. This is my four year old's first summer there and he could not be happier! The owners and staff are so caring and enthusiastic. Roz and Jed are kind and energetic and keep the parents well informed. The facility is beautiful and well kept. The pools are great and the swimming program is phenomenal. My son who could not swim at all prior to camp is now swimming on his own after a month of camp! We could go on and on about all the wonderful things this camp has to offer, so definitely check it out. RID: 36579
Click to report rating    8/9/10   1     4     4     1     2   Owners and staff seem more concerned with profits and appearance than with individual campers. Too many accidents and not enough attention to safety! RID: 33666
Click to report rating    8/9/10   1     5     4     1     2   Nice facilities, excellent programming, however serious concern over camper safety. Inadequate supervsion of teenage staff. Poor safety record - serious concern. RID: 33665
