Elective choice — campers choose daily based on interest

Elective choices are made while the campers are at camp, so they can pick whatever they are most interested in that day or that week! Electives will be chosen daily by campers (2nd grade and up) and usually include all of the activities that we have at camp.

Setting — 65+ acres in Northern Connecticut

Situated on 65+ acres, Boulder Ridge Day Camp offers campers ages 4 to 14 a traditional co-ed day camp experience in the rolling hills of Northern Connecticut. Surrounded by over 68 acres of some of the best things to be found in nature, Boulder Ridge campers will be blazing new trails as they discover and learn to appreciate the great outdoors.

Themes & shared moments

Special events — Boulder Battle, Counselor Hunt, Gameshow, Triathlon, and Theme Weeks

There's no shortage of fun activities at Boulder Ridge! We host a whole range of special events throughout the summer, some of our favorites include Counselor Hunt, Gameshow, Triathlon, and the yearly Boulder Battle! Each week has a theme at Boulder Ridge and every Wednesday our campers and counselors dress up in costumes and do activities based on the theme.

Growing confidence & friendships

CIT Program — leadership development for 14 and 15 year olds

The Boulder Ridge CIT Program is open to prior Boulder Ridge campers who will be 14 or 15 during the summer. CITs rotate through camper groups and activity specialty areas, receive leadership training through group discussions and individual writing assignments, organize camp-wide events with our CIT Coordinator, and complete a service project to benefit the Boulder Ridge community or the larger community.

Organizational leadership — Ebner Camps, multi-generational family ownership

Kristin Ebner Martin is the President/CEO of Ebner Camps, Inc. She follows in the footsteps of her father, her aunt, and grandfather, who all served as Directors of Awosting and Chinqueka and as President/Vice President of Ebner Camps for several decades. As President, Kris' primary goal is to ensure the children at all of our camps have a safe, caring and fun environment where they can grow and develop into responsible young men and women.

Programs & camp life

Daily structure — scheduled activities and camper choice

Days at Boulder Ridge are exciting and filled with activities and choices. Each session, campers are placed in small groups based on their age and grade with at least one counselor. The Boulder Ridge Day Camp program is designed with the age and development of each child in mind, providing a balance of physical and non-athletic activities. Campers will have both scheduled activities, where they can try everything that Boulder Ridge has to offer, as well as multiple choice periods every day, where they can really focus on what interests them.

Parent testimonial — international staff, swim lessons, LIT program, ropes course

My kids have been going to Boulder Ridge for four years and have had such a wonderful time each summer. The swimming lessons have been invaluable to our daughter and our pre-teen son got so much out of his experience as a Leader in Training, helping the little kids with some of their activities. They love all the great activities, especially the ropes course and crafts. Thanks so much to all the friendly, helpful counselors. Our kids will be back. —David L.
