Baseball — four age-appropriate diamonds, a program since 1917
Baseball has been one of the most popular sports at camp since 1917. While the Senior Field is still in the same location as it initially was, it has been converted into the stadium it is today. There are now four different, age-appropriate baseball diamonds at Brant Lake Camp, all beautifully maintained.
First-year parent advice — packing tips including stuffed animals and labeling
Be sure to pack his favorite stuffed animal or blanket. It's completely normal, and plenty of campers (of all ages!) have something from home that makes bedtime feel a little cozier. Label everything — if it can be labeled, label it. This is the single best thing you can do to help us help him keep track of his stuff. Camp provides sheets and pillows, so no need to send these. One of our personal favorites is a collage-style poster with his favorite photos from home — his counselors will hang it up for him and it will make his bed feel like his.
First-year parent advice — pre-camp nerves, building excitement
Leaving home for the first time can bring up some jitters for campers, but often even more so for parents. While it's natural to feel nervous, we've found that projecting positivity and excitement goes a long way. Your son will take his cues from you. If you're excited about this new adventure, he will be too! Talk about the fun stuff. Camp is a huge, exciting milestone — chat about the activities he'll try, the friends he'll make, the counselors who will become his coolest big brothers/sisters, and all the new experiences ahead.
Setting — Adirondack Mountains location and waterfront
Brant Lake Camp is located on the east side of Brant Lake in the Adirondacks of New York state. With just over 200 yards of waterfront property, our sand beaches provide a great place to hang out and relax with friends.
Drama/Theater — Junior Clubhouse shows and the Alma Mater tradition
There is no more encouraging, vibrant, and supportive audience in the world than the one you will find in our Junior Clubhouse on a show night. Whether it's a full age group show or just a Wednesday night talent show, the Brant Lake stage provides an opportunity to showcase your talent (or lack of talent) in front of all your camp friends. The spirit of BLC really lives in our Clubhouse, and the community never feels more whole and connected than when we all sing the Alma Mater, arm in arm, at the end of every show.
Jack Stirling — Soph B Group Head, focused on confidence and lifelong friendships
Jack first joined Brant Lake in 2023, traveling all the way from Scotland. He loves helping campers grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships, and thrive in all aspects of camp life — from competitive Green and Gray sports to silly theatre performances!
Golf — Senior program with Golf Extra offering 18-hole course trips
Golf's popularity continues to rise among our campers. All Senior boys can play golf a few times a summer if they choose to. For extremely motivated golfers we offer our special Golf Extra program which provides an additional 4–6 opportunities, including trips to nicer courses and opportunities to play 18 holes.
Intermediate Camp — program highlights including trips and co-ed activities
On Inter Row campers have more input into their daily program: expansive intramural experience, wider range of trips, more co-ed activities with our sister camp Point O'Pines, and optional intercamp games and tournaments. Inter Bs take exciting overnight trips to the Berkshires and Cooperstown.
