Clues to fit

"Hey Say" — CGL alma mater and what it means to belong

"Shoulder to shoulder, now all for each other, now let's show the whole world what friendship can mean…" These are the final words to "Hey Say," a song that anyone who has spent a summer "between the arches" knows by heart. Once a Color War song, "Hey Say" is now somewhat of a camp alma mater that can be heard throughout the summer — whether it be during a sing-along in the dining hall or as a bunk of campers makes its way from activity to activity during the day. The lyrics truly showcase what it means to be part of the Camp Green Lane family.

First-timers — CGL specializes in welcoming new campers

Camp Green Lane specializes in creating a positive camp experience for first-time campers! Nurtured by our outstanding counseling and supervisory staff, first-time campers are welcomed with open arms, shown the ropes, and dive right into daily camp life!

Adventure program — ropes courses, Quads, mountain biking, overnight under the stars

Our 135-plus acres provide the perfect setting for outdoor adventures of all kinds. Our campers learn to trust themselves and their bunkmates on our high- and low-ropes courses. They conquer rugged terrain on our Quads (4-wheelers) and mountain bikes. They enjoy the beauty of their natural surroundings by hiking through our surrounding wooded areas. And they get to eat and sleep under the stars as part of our overnight program.

Traditions & shared moments

100-year tradition — third- and fourth-generation campers, songs unchanged

Camp Green Lane started in 1926 and has always been family owned. Third- and fourth-generation CGL-ers are currently attending camp and singing many of the same songs and cheers that their parents and grandparents did decades before them. To meet a fellow Camp Green Lane alum is to have an instant connection — there will be animated conversation about plaques in the dining hall, miles of names written on the walls of Arts & Crafts, Firefly, Steeplechase, the Juice Squad song, and "laking" your first ball from Softball 1.

CGL identity — 100 years of family, friendship, and tradition

Camp Green Lane is a traditional overnight summer camp for boys and girls located in southeast Pennsylvania, about an hour from Philadelphia, 90 minutes from NYC, and 2 hours from Long Island. Since 1926 we have provided a fun, family atmosphere, where children cultivate friendships, character & lifetime memories. Our program emphasizes participation, skill building and teamwork through a combination of athletics, aquatics, the arts and adventure. We are a close-knit community bound by love, loyalty, spirit, and respect for our shared history and the many traditions that we hold dear.

Independence, growth & leadership

Parent testimonial — Max's first summer, new confidence and lifelong friendships

Max discovered so many new things about herself — new interests, new talents, new confidence and new independence. She formed lifelong friendships with campers of all ages. I'm forever grateful to you both for making her first summer as special as it was.

Daily schedule — the "Four A's" and Choice Within Structure

At Camp Green Lane we believe that the heart of camp is within the cabin. We pride ourselves on creating well-rounded daily cabin schedules featuring a mix of exciting activities from the Four A's: Athletics, Aquatics, The Arts, and Adventure. We believe in "Choice Within Structure" so that our campers have the opportunity to choose parts of their own camp adventure. First period each day is designated for either Clinics or Electives. Clinics, chosen by each camper, focus on sports instruction, emphasizing knowledge of the game, skills, and drills. Electives give the campers a chance to select and enjoy a special interest at their own pace, in their own way.
