I've never been to Camp Greenville, but it's close to my house, sounds fun and am considering going!!! Instead of a review, (never been there) I have a question about this camp so I might go there this year! Question: "Is it the kind of camp where all the girls try to get the boy campers to like them or a popularity camp?" I just went to a camp where everyone had a crush on another camper and there was a popular club, so I don't want to do that again :( Could someone please answer this question? SOON!!!
camp greenville is a place many people call home so that must tell you something. if it wasnt such an amazing place people wouldnt come back year after year. ive been there 6 years and nothing in the world makes me happier.
Nothing commercial in this camp... very traditional, living arrangements kick it old school, and you meet the most amazing people. You learn to be open minded and try new things, and you don't have to be religious to go there even if it is Christian based. Every single kid dreads going home!
As a former staff member, honesty is important, even if the nicest things arent said. Camp is great, and this one can be fun. I had some of the greatest times at camp, but it was often more of a popularity contest than a week of adventure. This was true for both staff and campers.
Best camp ive ever been to although Gwynn valley was pretty good as well; however, nothing even touches the atmosphere and comraderie that Camp Greenville possesses.
I for one believe that ymca camp greenville is the best summer camp in the world. it is such a nice camp that i have been going for the past 8 years. of all the camps this is number one!
I haven't been there in a while, but it kept me going there for seven straight years. You'll never forget the memories you make at Camp Greenville...never.
What's not to love about a place that changes your life for the better! Great friendships and wonderful memories that continue to add sunshine to every day!
Was a camper in the 80s, counselor in the 90s...sending my kids there in 08! Wonderful place...full of memories and they definately do last a lifetime.
Very historic camp for the appalachian region with excellent "adventure" activities. Heated cabins with hot showers make the mornings nice during winter camps. The staff are very knowledgable and patient so they are well equipped for team-building skills training.
I have been going to camp 9 years and will get to be a counsler next year! it is the best camp EVER!!!! i have made lifelong friends! and even though i've been there for 9 years it never gets old! i can't wait til next summer!
I simply cannot imagine my life without YCG. This past summer was my 7th year, and every day I have to mark on my calender that it's one less day until I go back. I'll finally be a counselor next year and I absolutely cannot wait to help give kids the same amazing experience that I was given. YCG has granted me opportunities that most people couldn't imagine in their wildest dreams. I was exposed to my first true love, rock climbing, and also to other adventurous excursions like mountain biking, backpacking, caving, and white water rafting. More importantly though, camp introduced me to some of my best friends that will last lifetimes and inspired me to want to become a better person.
Camp Greenville is absolutely amazing. Ever since I first went to camp, I make sure that I have time during the summer to attend. At first I didn't want to go, but when I got to the camp and saw it while dropping of my younger sibilings in June, I decided to attend the camp in July. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's such an awesome place where you meet so many new people, get so many new experiences, and learn new things every day. I would, and have, reccommend this camp to anyone wishing for an amazing experience.
i've been going to this camp since i was 8 (i'm now 16). and although i wasnt able to attend this past year, i'm intending on making up for lost time next summer as a counselor. the counselors are energetic and fun, while still responsible, the location is amazing, and the activities and experiences (ADVENTURE!) are unforgettable. i recommend this camp to ANYONE!
I've been going to YCG for 7 years. 3 as a camper and 4 as a couselor. Its the most amazing place on earth. The people who are lucky enough to experience this place are forever changed. It truly is heavin on earth. Camp Greenville is honestly my second home and will forever have a special place in my heart.YCG LOVE!
I went there back in the 80's and it was memories I will hold dear for the rest of my life. It is a beautiful place, and I hope to send my sons there when they get too be old enough.
Camp Greenville is really awesome. I went there last summer and it was so much fun. They have really good activities and very nice counsellors. The food is really good for a camp. My one request would be to have nicer cabins for the girls.
