All-camp community — family-style meals and shared programs
Greystone intentionally cultivates a tight-knit community. We rarely divide our campers into age-specific activities, but instead do the majority of our programs as an entire group. We are one united entity, eating family-style meals, enjoying Evening Programs and Morning Assemblies together, and praying together before going to bed. We experience life together all the time, and this community makes everything better!
Camper quote — faith and belonging, returning each year
"I used to be afraid of God. It was at camp — one of my first Morning Assemblies — that I learned that God loves me. That He's a friend. That He sacrificed his own son for me. That the Lord loves me more than anyone on this earth ever could. I return every year to be reminded of that." — Daphne, Camper
There is always something, even for the most selective of eaters! At breakfast, we always have fruit, berries, oatmeal, yogurt, granola, and basic cereals available. At lunch and dinner, everyone loves to eat a slice or two of homemade bread, as well as something from our huge salad bar. Most meals include hummus, hard-boiled eggs, several types of dressing, cottage cheese, soy butter, edamame, and some warm vegetarian options. If your daughter still finds herself hungry throughout the day, she can always stop by our Ice Huts to grab a snack, such as string cheese or granola bars.
Cabin life — types, amenities, and the cabin experience
At Greystone, we have 3 different types of cabins: we call them Tentalows, Bungalows, and Cabins. Each cabin has 8 to 12 campers. All of our cabins are comfortable and well built, perfect for your home away from home each summer. Each has 4–6 wooden bunk beds, 1–2 counselor beds, and clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water. You'll have a porch for sitting, space for dancing, and screen windows to enjoy the cool mountain breezes as you lay on your bunk.
High Adventure program — climbing wall, ropes course, zip line
Our High Adventure program has something for everyone! This extensive area of camp includes a 40-foot, five-faced climbing wall, 100-foot bouldering wall, the 'Screamer Swing,' the 'Leap of Faith,' tree climbing, and an exhilarating Zip Line Course. Standing 60 feet tall, boasting 30 stations on three levels, our ropes course is an impressive sight. After being outfitted with a harness, helmet, and lobster claws, the course is your playground, and you can work at your own pace to conquer endless combinations of the elements.
The DMC is a treasured hallmark of the Greystone relationship. The phrase was coined a few years ago by campers, and it has stuck, because it's something we practice and preach. We long for meaningful relationships — friends that both know us to the core and accept us unconditionally. Girls love sitting with a friend to talk through their struggles, successes, and signs of growth. A community defined by the DMC trusts each other and grows more confident in the beauty of their individual uniqueness.
Camper choice and independence — scheduling and community
Girls love the freedom they experience at Greystone. They choose their own schedule, make their own friends, and learn to live in harmony with a large group of people who are different from themselves. They set goals, express themselves, and take ownership of their faith. Over the weeks they are here, campers grow in self-confidence as they master skills, navigate the campus, and chat with girls they just met.
