Dining Hall — meals, dietary accommodations, homemade food
Our centrally located dining hall comfortably seats over 450 guests and serves as the bustling heart of Camp Jewell YMCA. Most meals are served family style, with dedicated staff members at every table to foster a warm, communal atmosphere. We proudly accommodate all food allergies and special diets, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Because most of our dishes are made from scratch, our guests can't stop raving about our homemade cookies!

Belonging mission — every child belongs before they arrive
At Camp Jewell, we live our belief that every child belongs before they arrive. Our programs are guided by the YMCA's core values — Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusion.
Centered around our private 50-acre Triangle Lake, Camp Jewell features Main Camp and Hide-A-Way Ranch, along with comfortable lodging, dining facilities, meeting spaces, miles of trails, and indoor and outdoor recreation. Set in the Berkshire foothills of Northwest Connecticut, Camp Jewell YMCA offers an incredible setting for summer camp.
Council Ring — campfire traditions across generations
Home to Camp Jewell's legendary campfires, the Council Ring is where songs are sung, stories are shared, and the entire camp community comes together. Surrounded by the woods and centered around the campfire, it's the setting for some of our most memorable Camp Jewell traditions. From opening campfires to special celebrations and evenings filled with songs and laughter, the Council Ring is where generations of campers have experienced the magic of camp together.
Mt. Wood climbing wall — a Camp Jewell tradition since the 1980s
A true Camp Jewell classic, Mt. Wood is our original climbing wall, challenging campers and guests since the 1980s. Rising high above the Athletic Field with views overlooking Triangle Lake, it's one of the most recognizable adventure areas at camp. Generations of campers have tested themselves on Mt. Wood, making the climb as much a Camp Jewell tradition as it is an adventure.
Waldo Photos — daily photos and scholarship support
Every day, our staff captures hundreds of photos of campers in action. Each evening, we upload these images to Waldo, our photo management partner. With the paid version all pictures featuring your camper will be sent directly to your phone! 50% of the revenue from this service supports our camp scholarship program.
Located on the shores of our private 40-acre Triangle Lake, the Waterfront is one of the most exciting places at Camp Jewell. Swim, canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or sail across the lake; take on the Blob, Wet Willie waterslide, or rope swing; play a game of beach volleyball; or cool off at Tt's Grotto, our natural lake-fed splash pad.
