Camper trip program — day trips and overnight excursions
Our oldest campers and CITs headed to Los Angeles for a week-long trip. Our Lower Teens set off for their Big Trip to Vermont and Boston. Other groups headed to Mountain Creek water park, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, and Splashdown. Our Daisies, Frosh, Cubs, and Wildcats went to Splashdown and were greeted upon return by an ice cream party. Back at home, remaining campers had dibs on all their favorite activities.
Outdoor adventure — ropes course, zip lines, Smart-Belay system
With a 5-sided rock climbing tower, Zip Lines and so many elements set up in the trees right by the lake, the campers learn to grow and overcome as they tackle our Ropes Course. Campers can head over to our newly built Adventure Walk with over 12 elements they can explore while secured by the state of the art Smart-Belay system.
Boys Sing is a special night of traditional, wholesome summer camp fun where there's a perfect mixture of creativity, unity, laughter, and nostalgia. The boys spend a lot of time writing, rehearsing, and coordinating the details to ensure a great performance. You can tell how close all of the boys in all of the divisions have become with each other as well as with their counselors and staff members. The speeches and songs by the Upper Teen Boys brought many in the room to tears. Speeches were made by 9-year campers who spoke with such emotion and clarity about the importance of camp and savoring all of your carefree, momentous years here at Lokanda.
It's Red vs. Grey! Our Color War is a 5-day event featuring a Break Out (and sometimes Fake Outs) that include sports, creative and novelty events between the entire camp. All of our campers and staff are split into 2 teams as they compete for our annual Color War title! Rope Burn, Sports, Plaques, Sing and our Apache Relay highlight this event.
Standard tuition $17,200. Early enrollment/new camper discount price $16,700. Early enrollment/new camper + payment in full price $16,200. Rookie Days: July 10 and July 24. Visiting Day: July 17.
Camp Lokanda brings in outside entertainment and hosts some of our own to wrap up our fun-filled days. Magicians, singers and entertainers bring their show into our Social Hall. Other nights include our Camp Fires, Camp Play, Dance Show, Talent Show, Girls Sing, Boys Sing, Cupcake Wars, Karaoke, Sports under the lights and Lokanda traditions like Counselor Hunt and Scavenger Hunts. Special day themes include Mess Fest, Disney Day, Gold Rush, Pirate Day, and multi-day events like World Cup Soccer and Euro Handball tournaments.
