Clues to fit

Camper testimonial — first-timer loved it

Thank you so much for an incredible summer. This was my first time away at camp and I loved it. What a great place to be with God and have fun! — Tyler, Atlanta, GA

Staff hiring — role models who love Jesus, selective process

We believe that our staff are the most integral part in the development of our campers. This is why we go to great lengths to find the best staff around. We are quite selective in our search process and hold high standards for our employees. It is the staff we hire that will be on the frontlines each day interacting with our campers. It is this group of upstanding Christian role models that we seek to share not only Christ, but their lives as well. It is our staff that go the extra mile, taking time to take a walk with them when they need a friend, being exceptionally patient in teaching a new skill, and ensuring that each camper feels known.

Traditions & shared moments

What makes Camp Ridgecrest unique — faith, tradition, safety, and individual attention

The strength of our camp comes from God being placed first in all that we do, a strong sense of tradition, a mindset focused on safety, and the development of an unbelievably fun environment. Camp is focused on individual attention and building one-on-one relationships.

Independence, growth & leadership

Camper rank system — promotion based on attitude, cooperation, service, character, leadership

Campers receive their first rank and enter our promotion system automatically during their first session at camp. They progress through different ranks, such as Hunter or Warrior, as they grow as young men and leaders. Staff evaluate the growth of their campers over the course of a session and campers have the opportunity to be promoted two different times. Progress is evaluated on the basis of attitude, cooperation, service, skill progress, sense of responsibility, and character.

Growth goals — responsibility, independence, confidence, faith

If your son spends two weeks at Camp and comes home exactly the same, we've failed. Growth looks different in every boy, but everyone has areas in which they can grow. Part of the counselor's role at Ridgecrest is to both get to know your son and help him grow as an individual.

Programs & camp life

Parent communication — daily photos via Campanion app, letters, email

Every night, you can view photos of your son from the day. Campers truly love to receive letters from home! They receive their mail each day after lunch and always look forward to this time. A handwritten letter is often kept for years, while emails are often thrown away quickly. You may choose to email your camper — these will be printed out and delivered along with regular mail. We highly recommend downloading the Campanion App where you can conveniently send emails to your son from your smartphone.
