Main Camp — 4 weeks, deepest friendships and most adventure trips

Main Camp is the paramount cabin experience at Rockmont — from first timers to seasoned veterans. Four weeks allows campers the unique opportunity to forge deep and enduring friendships that last a lifetime! This session is designed to allow campers the opportunity to see their growth week by week as they grow spiritually, physically, and emotionally by taking on new challenges and new adventures each week. Adventure Skill Trips in Mountain Biking, Paddling (Canoeing and Kayaking), Rock Climbing, and Backpacking are offered for this session.

Mini Camp — 6-day intro experience for first-timers (K–4th grade)

Our shortest camp session, Mini Camp is a way for boys (and parents) to "test the waters" of an overnight camp experience. The structure of this six-day camp program fosters a sense of stability for campers as they rotate through the daily rhythm of camp life. These campers participate in a broad selection of pre-selected skills and activities offered by Rockmont, while gaining confidence in their ability to plunge into new challenges, make new friends, and interact with the natural world. Due to space limitations, Mini Camp availability is limited to first-time Rockmont campers.

Adventure skill trips — Mountain Biking on 3+ mile trail, off-camp climbing at Linville Gorge

Our Mountain Biking program walks campers through basic bike maintenance and safety, then expands their riding skills through agility courses and technique-specific training. As campers progress, they will have the opportunity to ride on our 3+ mile trail system that carves through Rockmont's 600 acres of pristine mountain beauty, and go on off-camp trips to world-renowned trails all throughout Western North Carolina. Our climbing program could have campers utilizing their skills on off-camp trips to some of Western North Carolina's premier climbing routes — from Linville Gorge to Looking Glass Rock.

Setting — Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Eden, 600 acres

Camp Rockmont is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Black Mountain, North Carolina. Campers not only get to take advantage of our incredible 580 acres here on property, but are offered ample opportunities to explore the thousands upon thousands of acres of the natural playground that surrounds us here in Western North Carolina.

Independence, growth & leadership

CIT program — leadership for rising 10th–11th graders

The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program represents the pinnacle of the Rockmont experience, fostering a brotherhood of lifelong friends and equipping young men for lives of adventure and purpose. CITs take on meaningful responsibilities, embrace greater freedoms, and develop essential leadership skills through servant leadership principles. The program also encourages deeper faith exploration and meaningful dialogue, helping CITs ask big questions and strengthen their spiritual foundation. Designed for rising juniors and seniors in high school, the CIT program not only equips CITs with training on how to be an excellent Rockmont counselor, but also prepares young men to confidently step into the next chapter of their life.

Parent testimonial — comfort zone and confidence (Sarah, Ocala FL)

"It was a big decision to send our boys to camp so far away, but before they leave our nest, we want to put them in situations that require them to step out of their comfort zone and dig deep for courage. Camp Rockmont offered a perfect setting to stretch themselves and grow their confidence." – Sarah, Ocala, FL

Programs & camp life

Tribal and Evening Activities — daily programming by age group

At Rockmont, the excitement doesn't stop with skills — our Tribal & Evening Activities bring campers together for unforgettable games, challenges, and adventures. Each day, tribes (age groups) gather for thrilling activities designed just for them, from epic games of capture the flag and dodgeball to intramural competitions, slip'n'slides, waterfront adventures, and themed big games. Evening Activities range from spirited intramural games and capture the flag to night swims, movie nights, and even special guests like magicians, or a full-camp songfest at Evening Watch or Fireside, where stories and music create a meaningful close to the day.

Waterfront safety — three-layer supervision, ARC-certified lifeguards

Swimming Safety is a top priority at Rockmont, and we take a multi-layered approach to ensure all campers can enjoy our spectacular waterfront safely. It begins on Opening Day with a Swim Test, where each camper is assessed on their ability to swim 25 meters and tread water for 15 seconds. The safety of our waterfront is further enhanced by three layers of supervision: Lifeguards, Lookouts, and Buddies. All Rockmont Lifeguards are American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certified, and are further certified in the American Red Cross Waterfront Module. Our Lifeguards train and drill every week, working through various scenarios. Buddy checks, facilitated by the waterfront staff, are called every 20 minutes.
