About Camp Wah-Nee

Camper Choice Enrichment program

Camp Wah-Nee introduced Camper Choice Enrichment in 2025, allowing campers to select from all of our programs offered right at camp. This exciting new initiative allows campers to select four enrichment programs per week, giving campers the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and make the most of their summer experience.

Rookie Day — first-timer experience event

Parents who are new to Wah-Nee will also be given a tour.

Traditions & shared moments

Color War tradition

Wah-Nee's Color War splits campers into two teams—red or white—which compete in both athletic and non-athletic activities. In order for Color War to begin, there must always be a color war "break," which leaves the entire camp on its toes. Will it be fireworks? A laser-light show? A hot air balloon? For four fun-filled days, there is endless action, cheering and spirit. Camp Wah-Nee Color War culminates with our traditional sing competition, where each team performs an alma mater, cheer and march, and displays their team plaques and entrances. No matter who wins, each camper takes home the feeling of being part of the magical Wah-Nee family.

Independence, growth & leadership

Senior overnight trips — independence and adventure

Each summer, we take our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade campers off the camp grounds to have some fun and share a special experience. Senior and LODGE campers participate in a two-night, three-day trip either to go white water rafting, jet boating or visiting other amazing destinations. The oldest campers participate in an overnight trip to Newport, Rhode Island. These trips are designed to build independence and self-confidence.

Programs & camp life

Dietary needs and food allergy accommodations

Camp Wah-Nee is equipped to manage many dietary requirements for our campers and staff with food allergies. We routinely accommodate our campers that are gluten-free including those with Celiac Disease, and are versed in serving these meals separately and appropriately. Please be aware that we are not a nut-free facility, but do have successful campers with this allergy.

Dining — family style meals and daily menu

Our campers eat family style with their divisions—campers and counselors—and are served by waiters and waitresses. The entire camp eats meals together, allowing all our boys and girls to build camp spirit as a family. Each meal provides plenty of options for our campers and has an emphasis on quality and fresh, local produce. Breakfast includes hot items such as waffles, scrambled eggs, and pancakes with options for oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, milk and juices. Sunday breakfast is always special with bagels and lox. Lunch and Dinner always include salad bars, featuring lettuce, fresh cut vegetables, tuna salad, hummus and a variety of toppings in addition to our main offering each day. Pasta, plain or with cheese, is also always offered.
