Students will have two full band rehearsals each day, and a master class or sectional rehearsal. Students generally play their instruments for several hours each day, but with enough breaks to avoid fatigue, and they have plenty of recreational time as well. In the evenings we have performances for the students to enjoy, and on the last night we have a dance.

Parent review — six years as a must-do summer activity
Encore Band Camp has been the must do summer activity six years running! We schedule vacation around Encore! It has enabled my children to grow their musical talent during the summer through caring and talented directors, master classes focusing on their instruments, and enjoyable recreational activities each day. As a parent, the final concert showcasing their intense practice all week is a highlight of my summer. — Robert & Elison Siple
Students are housed in suite style dorms with 2 rooms of 2 students (4 students total) being adjoined by a bathroom. Boys and girls halls are separated. Students must bring their own linens. The dorms are locked 24 hours a day and only Encore and university staff have keys. Students will be given a key to their assigned room.
About two weeks before camp, you will receive a specific packing list. About 2 weeks prior to camp, you will also receive a Medical form, waiver, and insurance info document to fill out and submit. You will also receive a set of behavior guidelines that you will need to read and accept.
Safety at camp is our number one priority. Students are closely accounted for and supervised at all times. Encore Band Camp students are never allowed to walk anywhere alone, and the dormitories and rehearsal sites are secured buildings. No one outside of Encore Camp has access to our dormitories. All social activities are well supervised. The staff to camper ratio is approximately 1 to 10.
ENCORE Band Camp does offer a $100 scholarship to students who are selected to the Georgia All-State Band. Also, each year at camp, each director will award a 'Director's Award' to one student in their group. This award comes with a scholarship for $100 toward tuition to return to camp the following year.
