Food — celiac/gluten-free accommodations

If for your peace of mind, you would like to send some favorite comfort foods, you are welcome to do so. We have a refrigerator in our kitchen dedicated to special diet campers. We regularly stock, for example, Udi's Brand Gluten-free bread and roll products. We always have available a quinoa/rice pasta. We maintain a menu of GF cookies and cakes.

DEIB — belonging for all campers, including those with support needs

Frost Valley YMCA strives to be a place where all people belong, where our ongoing work increases inclusion and diversity, where equity is evident in our decisions and actions, and where all are respected. We do this to ensure that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. While talking to parents of children with support needs, they have said that Frost Valley is a place where they know their child is safe and can experience independence.

Setting — nearly 6,000 acres in the Catskill Mountains, 2 hours from NYC

Nestled on nearly 6,000 acres in the scenic Catskill Mountains, just 2 hours from New York City, Frost Valley offers year-round opportunities for engagement in nature, adventure, personal growth, and creativity. Our location at the headwaters of the Neversink River means our actions affect more than 9 million people — this clean source of drinking water is part of the New York City watershed.

Independence, growth & leadership

YMCA values — Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility

The YMCA's character values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY guide Frost Valley YMCA's core organizational values, which serve as pathways for our guests as they engage with nature, art, and each other.

Programs & camp life

Food — nut-aware facility, broad dietary options including gluten-free and vegan

As of August 24, 2025, Frost Valley YMCA is now a nut-aware facility. Our Food Service team does not serve any items containing nuts or nut-based products, with the exception of coconut (MCT). We offer a vast array of options from the typical kid fare to organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. Care is taken to meet the dietary needs of all of our campers and guests. Chartwells Educational Dining Service creates the menus, ensuring that each meal is nutritionally balanced. Candy and soda are not served or sold in the Camp Store.
