Camp Kweebec reviews

When i came to work at this camp i was so disappointed. What i thought would be a place of unity and happiness was not quite what I had envisaged. Kids that have formed a cliche and know each other well are fairly happy here but new kids are shunned. It is clear the directors are out to make a quick buck where little money is reinvested, the bunks are in a really bad state. The food is awful but most of the kids buy junk food after meals or as i saw half the girls were not eating properly. The worse thing was a couple of counsellors found some very suspicious needles (you figure it out) which we showed to one of the directors and with digust they said 'throw it away.' nothing further was discussed about the matter. It is a real shame as the camp has potential. I would not recommend anyone work there particuarly those from abroad as you are not treated as an equal, in fact far from it. What a shame.

If you stay the staff don't even pay attention to you at all it is so cheap i came here and the counselers didnt even let us swim in the lake so we went in the paddle boats they stink and you can only stay in there for like 5min. overall it bad

The people are obsessed with intercamp games and are very willing to cheat. The food is disgusting (green hotdogs), the facilities are a mess (blacktop gaga courts to scrape your knuckles on), there is no grass. It is a sleep away camp and the friendships will last but I believe this is so for any camp and there is no reason to choose a camp that is so trashy (garbage all over the place). The owners don't really make much effort to improve the camp, it seems as though they are content with how it is because they are making money and feel no need to make it better. There is little sense of pride with the owners but the kids somehow seem to enjoy it. I could list several camps that a child could get the same experience but with better food and facilities as well as better people surrounding them.

I Worked here as an international counsellor in 2005 and can onestly say we (international) staff were not treated with as high a regard as the American staff, even though we were the ones responsible for setting everything up for the arrival (the US staff turned up a couple of days beforehand)and were left to clean up afterwards (most of the US staff left the same time as the campers). The food i have seen first hand is out of date, not everything, but at least 5 cartons of yoghurt and some of the fruit were a couple of months out. This was shrugged off when we said anything. (i know this because we were asked to unload all the food from the truck) Whilst i was there i wasnt a huge fan, but looking back now, i really would like to go back, one of the best things ive done, and i will never regret it.

KWEEBEC is the greatest camp in the world. if your really into sports this is the place to be. you also make great friendships. the councilars are very nice. they also have great food.

ugly camp mean kids and staff

Camp Kweebec is awesome. I went there for a school trip and loved it. My friends and i were really hyper and happy. The giant swing and the lake are AWESOME! I deffinitly recomend it! -E.D.

I go to Camp Kweebec and this will be my 4th summer. It is alwsome and you have the most fun there. Its a little dirty but thats what makes it camp.

Wow, what can I say I went to Kweebec and cried every night! This is the worst camp i can't even explain it... if you are a girl and told that this is a sports camp DONT BEILVE IT! i was told that kweebec was a sports camp and it turned out to be the total opposite the grls were only into boys and make-up and you barley ever play sports and when you do it is not a challenge AT ALL! i would not recommend this camp to anyone who loves sports!!!!

This camp is wonderful for children. I am not aware of any other summer camp that gives each child so much care and attention...not to mention the friendships they make and the and fun they have.

then go to a country club. the dust and the dirt is what camps all about. this place has changed my life and the lives of about 300 people i know. :) it is the best thing that could ever happened to me. i would 110% reccomend this place to any one looking for the best summers of their life.

This camp is the biggest piece of**** ever. The people are mean, the staff don't do anything, and the kids don't follow any of the rules.

Our daughter has attended this camp for almost 10 years. It has been a great experience for her and for us. The activities are well thought out and enjoyable. The children learn about sportsmanship and supporting each other. They are also taught that there are winners and losers in sporting events, not all ties. This camp is a gem.

I went there on a class trip and I couldn't stand it for 1 day. The bunks are just nasty. I can't see anyone sleeping in them, the staff was rude and lazy and the food and quality of the activities were just terrible! I really really don't recommend this camp no matter how many good ratings it has. There is no grass anywhere, the pool was foggy and gross, the climbing wall was unsafe (the rocks weren't screwed in tight enough and they turned) and the cousler wouldn't let me down.

Great camp, great directors, great staff, great experience for my children. There is no other place I would feel comfortable sending my family!

My children went to this camp and it was the best experience they've ever had. The counselor staff is excellent. The arts, aquatics and the athletic programs are top notch. My children have been going for the past 5 years and they count down everyday to the next summer. Each child is treated by the owners as if he/she were their own.I would recommend this camp with highest possible confidence to any family.

Can't say enough about this place. My daughters begin the countdown to next summer they day they get home. What better endorsement can you ask for?

My children have attended this camp for the past three summers. My son loves the sports programming while my daughters, who are less sports oriented, have loved all of the programming and the social aspects of the camp. I would highly recommend this camp to anyone and everyone!

Great camp, outstanding staff, facilities sports,arts and aquatics programs among others. Owners/Directors know each and every child. My kids are each starting their 8th summer and can,t wait to return. They love their camp friends and are in touch with them all year!

The summer of 06 was my 1st year. It is the sickest camp I've ever gone to!!!!!! I would like to give a shout out to Mike wright. So all in all, this camp rocks!!!

My children have attended Kweebec for many many years and love it more than anything else in the world! In response to the people who have complained about the food at Kweebec, you are mistaken. Kweebec takes exceptional care in providing a wide variety of choices and offers a biger range of nutritional options than any other camp I have ever seen. They pay incredible dattention to detail here and your children are lucky if they get to experience Kweebec as their summer home. Best camp ever-no question.

Outstanding programs esprcially in athletics and arts. Best athletic program around, superior to many much more costly programs. Features personal instruction by some of the finest pro's and college coaches, our kids improved immensely. Owners personally involved, know every child. Terrific warm and friendly family atmosphere. Kids come back year after year and feel that its "their" camp or "second home".

This is the best camp. The owners/directors do everything in their power to make sure every child has a great summer. They oversee every aspect of camp; from the staff, to the bunks, to the food and the most important thing is the safety of each camper. Everyday activity is planned and this camp breeds a sort a camraderie and family atmosphere that is palpable. This is truly the most amazing place.

I LOVE CAMP KWEEBEC. IF YOU SAID IT WAS BAD, YOU REALLY NEED A LIFE.

i went to camp for 6 years. i decided not to come back as a first year counselor, but it was one of the biggest mistakes ever as i did not realize how much i would miss camp. kweebec is more than camp, its a family. my bunkmates whom i did not know when i first went to camp have become my best friends. its a great place to be.

My Child has been at camp Kweebec for 9 years .My child counts down the days in the winter the next summer, the children in this camp keep going back. My child has been with the same children for nine years. That’s what makes it a real camp. Most of the staff has been there since the beginning when my child started which make this camp feel like a family. About the food, BEWARE! This is not Buddakan or Capital Grill! My child had a stomach virus one summer and they have professional staff that takes care of the children not to mention the owner being a Physician herself.

this is the most amazing camp in the whole entire world !!! i've been going therre for 6 yrs now, and uhm about the last comment, IF YOUR CHILD GOT SICK - ITS NOT THE CAMPS FAULT THAT HE HAS A BAD STOMOCH. and if your looking for a rich snobby airconditioned "camp" don't go to kweebec, because kweebec is actually CAMP ,, not just a house in another state. kthanks

This Camp is dirty and sloppy.The bunks fall apart, There is dust everywhere. There is no grass anywhere. THe food got my child sick 7 times.
