Life at Bryn Mawr is guided by a set of values called the Angel Code, and every camper down to the littlest Manor House girl can tell you what those values are: Loyalty, Beauty, Merit and Comradeship. The Angel Code is more than just a set of words, though. It's a toolbox that campers can take back into their everyday lives to help them become thoughtful, compassionate young women.
Senior Camp — electives, independence, and Color War leadership
By the time campers reach middle and high school, they're ready to take some ownership of their camp experience — and camp is the perfect place to develop independence. In Senior Camp, girls going into seventh through tenth grade get to choose many of their own elective activities. Seniors also have more opportunities for travel off campus, including overnight trips to destinations such as the Berkshires, Vermont, and Boston. Leadership and community-building skills are central to the Senior Camp experience, as campers prepare to take the helm of Color War and other camp traditions when they reach Bunk One.
For our younger campers, summer is a time to broaden horizons by trying a little bit of everything. Junior Campers — girls going into second through sixth grade — participate in an activity program that's designed to give them a taste of as many different activities as possible. Except for Upper Juniors, Junior Campers attend all of their activities accompanied by their cabin counselors. Our youngest Junior Campers live in the Manor House, overseen by the 'Manor House Mama,' a special group leader who coordinates the daily routines for our smallest Angels.
