Setting — 50-acre wooded campus in Long Valley, NJ
The Meadowbrook campus is a magnificent 50-acre facility surrounded by natural beauty and nestled in the hills of Long Valley, NJ. Many visitors to Camp compare it to the facilities that are typically seen only at overnight Camps. The beautiful wooded campus provides natural shade in many areas. We supplement nature with tented structures throughout Camp to provide an additional break from the sun. Water and sunscreen stations are strategically located around Camp to provide a safe, comfortable experience for our Campers.
Program breadth — traditional plus unique activities
Meadowbrook offers a 'traditional' Day Camp program which includes a wide variety of athletic, aquatic, ropes and nature activities. Our program is carefully designed to include not only all the traditional Camp activities, but unique ones as well, such as Bumper Boats, Mountain Boards, Fishing, an amazing High & Low Ropes Course, Earth/Wind & Fire and our Game Room. Each and every week is filled with innovative special events which match our 8 weekly themes, including the famous Meadowbrook Dance Show. Campers also get to experience our annual 'Color War,' Blue vs. Yellow, in which all camp participates.
Starting with Campers entering 2nd grade, there is a double 'Choice Period' each day where Campers choose the activity in which they want to participate. Our Young Adventurers (5th–6th grade) also have a Daily Clubs Period which offers them another elective period in their schedule.
Parent review — confidence growth and leadership quality
Meadowbrook's programming caused both my kids' confidence to grow exponentially. The general attitude and atmosphere were far above my expectations and the leadership at camp, from Dan and Rich to the most junior counselor, was superior to any I've seen before. Having a young male role model for my son and a motherly/big sister type for my daughter was amazing! Every person they worked with created a positive and memorable experience, every day. — Mason & Rich, Basking Ridge, NJ
Each Camp day includes 10 periods. Campers are grouped by school grade, and our program is designed to provide the right mix of activities on appropriately sized facilities. Your child's daily schedule will always include instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. A healthy, kid-friendly hot lunch is included every day at no extra cost. There are also many alternative options every day as well as a fresh Salad Bar. We also carry fresh fruit daily.
Facility highlights — pools, lakes, field house, ropes, and more
Camp features include: a 9,000 sq. ft. heated Pool Complex with 3 heated pools; two private lakes for boating, fishing and nature exploration; an outstanding High & Low Ropes Challenge Course; a 6,600 sq. ft. indoor Field House; an indoor air-conditioned School House with changing rooms and creative cooking areas; a Jr. Challenge Course; a tented Gymnastics Pavilion; an indoor air-conditioned Jr. Camp Gymnasium; a natural Archery Range; Tennis Courts; a Dining Pavilion; a Mountain Bike Trail; and acres of wooded trails.
Parent review — swim safety, TIGER values, daily joy
This was the best investment we made! The swim instruction made my child safer and that is absolutely priceless. We raise her with the same values as TIGER and now MCDC has reinforced that foundation with an invaluable, memorable experience. Our daughter would literally screech with excitement every other morning when I would wake her up and tell her it was a camp day! The last day of camp further drove this point home for us when I was brought to tears by seeing everyone crying and hugging and holding onto her for one last summer camp hug and photo. The relationships she made with counselors (and kids too!) was an undeniably epic and unforgettable experience for our little girl! — Kara & Robert, Long Valley, NJ
