Community & belonging — camper testimonial (Alexa & Lucas)

We had so much fun. This year I rang the bell at the rock climbing wall and passed my deep water test. Thank you for making our summer fun. I can't wait to go to camp next summer. — Alexa (age 6) and Lucas (age 8)

Community & belonging — first-timer camper review (Genett Family)

Thanks so much for a fun few weeks at Summer Trails! Our son had an amazing first experience and absolutely LOVED it! Especially…gaga, boating, archery, swim and ice cream every day! This is exactly what he needed. — The Genett Family

Setting — only private day camp in Westchester with a natural pond

Summer Trails is fortunate to be the only private day camp in Westchester County with a natural pond. Row boating, paddle boating, fishing, frog catching and nature study each take place at our pond. Additionally, it is always a highlight when Jaws, our camp turtle, surfaces for special treats. Campers can swoosh high in the sky across the pond on our brand new zipline!

Setting & facilities — 20-acre grounds with pond, pools, zipline

Summer Trails is operated on 20 privately owned sprawling acres. We have two heated swimming pools in our aquatics complex, a picturesque pond full of adventure and wildlife, challenging vertical and horizontal climbing walls, a fantastic playground, five indoor facilities, as well as numerous fields, courts, and crafts areas. In 2023 we added a dynamic zip line over our pond and an above ground climbing adventure course. New in 2024, we have a brand new Ninja Course and Weatherport structures for shelter from the sun and on inclement weather days.

Themes & shared moments

Program breadth — over 60 activities plus annual special events

Programs & camp life

Aquatics — Red Cross swim program, daily instructional and free swim

Summer Trails has two heated swimming pools and campers are scheduled for both an instructional swim — a great opportunity to get comfortable in the water, perfect a stroke, or learn how to dive — and a recreational swim, a chance to splash around with your friends, daily. We run the American Red Cross certified swim program.
