The Bear Clan experience is designed to ease our youngest boys into camp life with a nurturing environment. A full-range of activities is available to the Bears, and plenty of encouragement to try new things. On adventure trips, Bear Clan campers enjoy hiking and canoeing excursions off-property, followed by overnight camping in the wilderness areas located at the far side of our own Purity Lake.
1,000 acres of unspoiled land in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, surrounding the clean, sparkling waters of Purity Lake. Bordered by an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary.

Personal growth through adventure — first-timer and beyond
Experiences such as being away from home for the first time, navigating new friendships and summiting mountain peaks are just a few examples of extraordinary opportunities for personal growth found at camp. In this way, self-discovery through adventure becomes an individualized experience that is nurtured and celebrated.
Outdoor Adventure — location in White Mountain National Forest
Tohkomeupog is fortunate to be located both within the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, as well as on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest. This creates endless possibilities for exploration. Adventure Trips are one of the most highly anticipated and memorable components of the Tohkomeupog experience.
Outdoor Adventure — progressive program from on-site to backcountry
Outdoor Adventure experiences are introduced gradually at Tohkomeupog. Initial training happens right at camp, using the climbing wall, trail network, and private lake as practice environments before heading into the field. Our youngest campers frequently camp out on the far reaches of our own property — getting the feel of a wilderness experience within close proximity to camp. As boys advance through older clans, standard trips such as hiking and flat water canoeing become more challenging and extensive, and a greater variety of options become available.
One of the most anticipated events of the summer, the annual Track Meet brings campers of all ages together to compete in a full range of track and field events. Whether running, jumping, or cheering from the sidelines, every boy has a role on the team.
Wolf Clan — leadership development for senior campers
The Wolf Clan is composed of our most senior campers at Tohkomeupog, with programming that reflects their growing level of maturity and experience. Boys may focus on activities where they wish to excel. As campers think about transitioning to staff in the near future, a greater emphasis is placed on developing leadership skills.
The CIT program bridges the gap between those carefree years of being a camper and the responsibilities of being a counselor at Tohkomeupog. It is a leadership training program, designed for boys who have grown up during summers at camp, and who are now ready to take the next step. Boys completing the experience will gain valuable insight that will benefit them throughout life.
Daily program — activity selection and skill focus
Campers enjoy three instructional morning activity periods on most days. One of those periods is always swimming — the one mandatory activity for all campers at every level. All other morning activities are chosen by campers at the start of each week, typically on Sunday evening. Unlike camps where activities rotate daily, Tohkomeupog boys focus on their chosen activities for the full week. This approach leads to stronger skill development and a greater sense of accomplishment.
