Financial aid — scholarship program for families who cannot pay
As a charitable, non-profit organization, the Capital District YMCA ensures that no child is denied the life-changing experience of camp because of an inability to pay. To apply for a scholarship made possible through donations to the YMCA's Annual Campaign, complete the scholarship application found on your Parent Account after your camper is enrolled. Applications are reviewed each spring and scholarships are awarded on a sliding scale based on total family income and other factors shared in your application.

Camp to Belong — siblings in foster care reunited at Chingachgook
Camp to Belong (CTB) has benefited from support through our Annual Campaign for the past 8 years. This program has grown to helping 25 campers living in foster care connect with their biological siblings at Camp, siblings whom they don't always get to see throughout the year as they are living in separate foster homes. Camp brings families together through this program but also gives these campers a network of friends that become family.
I was fortunate enough to attend YMCA camp Chingachgook, starting as a camper in 1991, and returning for 14 consecutive summers — 7 as a camper and 7 as staff — all full of magical moments. The skills and relationships that I developed as a result of being part of Camp have stayed with me my entire life. I have made lifelong friendships, and those friends are now family. I'm grateful my son has now started as a camper and will have similar experiences.
