I am a former camper and spent 4 summers at this awful camp. First off, their are outlandish rules that punish even the smallest crimes such as being late to an activity. Brian Krug, the director of this camp is great at recruiting campers, but keeping them, thats a whole new story. The "head of lower boys" Roy Kaplan is very useless. At first, he tried to get our bunk to do team building exercises but then just gave up. Campers Who refuse to participate in an activity are subject to extra phone calls to parents about their behavior. Why should the staff care if we do or do not participate? They are not the ones who paid about $10,00.

I am a former camper and I would love to say that my first three years or so at the camp were truly the time of my life. Once the regime change occurred however, that love was lessened. I didn't completely lose my love and faith in the camp, however i could see that it was less and less fun as time progressed. My first day after Krug took over, we were told that flip flops couldn't be worn to meals (we ignored it and he stopped telling us). Stringent rules that had no ultimate purpose were put on the kids and only hindered the experience that we once looked forward to. While the little kids may love putting rubber bands in his hair and he may be a great recruiter, I don't know if he is great at bringing in and retaining older campers (hence the small CIT groups of the last few years). Im still convinced that it can be a good camp, and is, however, Brian and the rest of his staff need to put a bit more focus on the older kids in order to ensure they return as staff.

Staff is completely unaccommodating towards campers. Campers must face outlandish consequences for the slightest acts of un orderly conduct. Brian Krug can recruit campers well but fails to manage the campers he has. Eric Forti and Roy Kaplan are terrible at running a camp. Campers failing to participate in an activity after already being reprimanded are subject to telephone conference with parents

What can I say?? This is my 7th year at camp and I have had many up and down moments. But, those problems that I had were more of a “Who should I ask to the dance?” kind of thing because at camp everyone is your friend.!

My children had a wonderful experience. Brian Krug does a wonderful job as camp director. He is very capable at his job, friendly and very professional. He takes camp very seriously and addresses all problems. The camp has a wide range of activities, which makes it very easy for any camper to fit in. The camp grounds are beautiful. We have had no problems with the staff. Are kids are happy, so that is what it is all about.

As an international staff member of Camp Canadensis i need to advise that to get satff members to return year after year from half way acrss the world, this camp must be doing alot of things right. Canadensis has an amazing group of staff who work together with beautiful kids, and fantastic facilities to make amazing memories summer after summer. I have been here since 2006 Brian's 1st year and although i didn't know the old directors well, Brian does an amazing job. He cares bout the children, but also runs a tight shift making sure the head counselors and counselors are doing the same. He has a no tolerance policy for drinking and drug, and also makes sure activities are arranged for staff so they have other enjoyable options at night. Aunt Terri is INCREDIBLE, the sweetest woman who would do absolutely anything for campers and staff alike. Canadensis is an amazing place, a giant family and if you have different ideas, then you have obviously never been part of something special.

This is my daughter's eighth summer at Canadensis. This camp is the best around!!! The Owner, Terri, the Director, Brian, and all the staff are excellent. The camp is beautiful and so well organized!! I highly recommend Camp CanadensiS. These have been the best summers of my daughter's life and I know she will be there again next summer. The food is great, the cabins are all updated, and the activities are awesome!!!! I just love Camp Canadensis!!!

This is my son's 3rd summer at the camp. I can't express to you enough what a genuinely kind and caring camp director Brian Krug is.

Canadensis is definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me! Put it this way: if your child did not have an amazing summer at this camp, then camp is just not for them. The staff is amazing and the friends you meet here you will never forget. Over the past 5 years I have developed friendships that I can guarantee will last for the rest of my life. I consider this place my 2nd home and that will never change. Summer time is a time I wait for all year round because I can't wait to go to camp canadensis!!

This camp has to be the best in the entire northeastern United States. The staff leaves very little to be desired. The activities are spectacular, and, in agreement with many others, there really is nowhere else with motor-bikes and water-skiing. Brian Krug is often a nice man, and, contrary to what many have said, is caring, and listens to everyone's problems. I will be returning for my fourth summer, and I have counting the days down since early last fall (pretty much the day that I got back).

Find me another camp with motorcycles, horses, a pool just for scuba diving, etc. The facilities and activities at this camp are top notch. The head counselor has changed but at some point people get too old to run a camp and it is a good thing to bring new blood in. I have never seen another camp, and I now spend my summers at another camp due to my husbands job, that puts as much money as Canadensis back in to the camp every year.

very disappointing and poorly managed, I agree with previous comments about Brian being uncommitted to the campers happiness. There are also oldtimers who dont know how to crack a smile and deserve the name Shark. My child wont be back, there are better camps.

This camp has lots of tradition, and a great location/facilities but the director (Krug) and operations manager (Forti) make a lot of promises they cannot keep. They are very rough on staff, and don't value/reward hardworking, experienced staff (unless ur a former camper) Beware this camp looks for ways to fire people towards the end of each year to save $$. Lots of counsellor turnover each year. If you are local/international looking to work here read your contract carefully they will try to cheat you out of $$. Parents they don't reinvest your $$ back into things that make camp great, the kids.

My child loves this camp. The staff is very responsive and attentive to the needs of the children and the parents. The facilities are lovely and setting is one of the nicest I have seen. There are plenty of camps that charge much more and provide much less.

Camp Canadensis is a shell of its former self still parading around as an elite camp. In comparison to its competition, the family-owned Canadensis cuts more corners with its budget than I have ever seen in the industry. The disorganized Head Staff provide immature, aloof, and in many cases, no leadership to an under-prepared and overworked staff who put nights at the local bar ahead of supervsion and safety. New Director Brian Krug is a salesman and a schmoozer with limited administrative intellect and an obvious lack in substative experience in areas other than camper recruiment. The food is poor and the facilities, though plentiful, are second rate compared to other top camps. Camp Canadensis is very much in limbo with a revolving door of inept leadership over the past several years and probably a safe bet to pass on considering the wealth of elite Northeastern camps that actually deliver on what they sell.

This camp is not a nurturing environment for children. As a counselor, the head staff do not appreciate you. The kids are not allowed to call their parents more than once their whole stay. The junior counselors spend most of the time with the kids all day from one activity to the next, and influence the children greatly. Some junior counselors were nice, others were outright nasty.

this is my 7th summer coming up in 07, and camp canadensis is my LIFE. the girls in my bunk are like my sisters, they mean everything to me. i became so close with the staff.. i dont know what that rating about drugs and stuff was, cuz my sister, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, and other uncle went to canadensis.. and they all had amazing times. the staff is amazing, theyre all so cool and relax.. theyre awesome. this camp is the best thign in the world, and i most definately would recommend anyone to come here. the memories and friendships are perpetual, but your time as a camper only lasts to long.. i will be a super senior, meaning after this summer, i have only one more year as a camper, and i wish i took advantage of those years, and made them mean something. everyone cries at the end of camp, because the friendships weve made will last forever, adn the bonds we share are unbreakable. i LOVE YOU CANADENSIS <3

I've spent two summer's of band camp here and had a great time! There's so much to do from watersports, to rock climbing, baseball, golf, basketball, archery, crafts, fishing, tennis, ect. The food is...well, camp food (nice cereal bar though). Some cabins are nicer than others and the scenery/location is fantastic (isolation from the outside world and beautiful forest/lake ect.). Nice wildlife (deer, beavers, ect.) and many trails for hiking, bike riding, and dirtbike riding. Since I was there for band camp, we couldn't do all these activities, but numerous types of camps go on here all summer long.
